What a shame. It looks like it might be a decent Pedang or Golok. I'll go out on a limb and say Pedang. With that chunk out of it, ouch, makes me want to :barf:

When I asked him how 1 mm could be right, he said he "made a measuring error," and the blade was actually 8 mm thick. 1 . . . 8 . . . hey, anyone can make a mistake.

The handle is still 2.5 mm thick.
