This is a one-off "Hoplite" model by Elishewitz, the only one with this design. It features a "hornet's nest" stainless damascus by Mike Norris, which has D2 as its primary steel - so this blade will have good edgeholding and wear resistane, and not just look pretty.
Allen's fine machining skills comes to play here (not many makers can do what he does, as the special machines cost hundreds of thousands and Allen is an artist, not just a knifemaker). This folder features a framelock design with lots of interesting design elements - s-shape blade, decorative guilloche around the pivot, geometric elements on the handle, inlayed gold maker's mark and an interesting "semi-native/tribal" blade notch at the spine. Allen's Hoplite normally sports a 4inch blade, but this one has a slightly more manageable size...it's 3.75". The folder is super smooth, centered blade, non-sticky lock, zero bladeplay and the edge is shaving sharp. Fit and finish are perfect.
The guilloche alone puts it up there with fine jewellery.
The choil in the design makes it easy to change grips and allows for more controlled cutting, if needed.
I would like $1000 for this piece due to it being the only one.. One and only drop $900
Paypal fee's and priority shipping included in the price..
The shipping is with Royal Mail and can be insured to the buyers request and comes with tracking references..
Comes with Zippered pouch..
Thanks for now..
Andy..
