A few days ago i acquired this Erik Frost knife with standard scandi grind but with stag handle, guard made from brass & fiber and aluminium butt.
The leather sheath is reinforced with a red colored metal rim.
My guess is it's from the 1950's, but i'm not sure.
Any idea's ?

Mora based company´s has made similar knives named "jaktkniv nrxx". Where xx is the model number. Jaktkniv means hunting knife, but jakt also may have an older military connotation refereeing to smaller dispatch type units. I saw the today in a reprint of an old tool mail-order catalog from 30´s and on from the 50´s.

Thanks for the info peppen108, :-)

BTW: this is how the knife looks now.
I renewed the edge on my Tormek T7 wet sharpener, and i'm still in the process of giving the rest of the blade somewhat of a satin finish.
The fiber in the guard and below the butt had swollen a bit, so i sanded it flush with the brass and did some polishing:

Specs:

Overall length: 9.3 inch (23,5 cm)
Blade length: 4.8 inch (12,1 cm)
Blade thickness: 0.1 inch (3,2 mm)
Steel: Carbon steel
Handle material: Stag grip panels, brass & fiber guard, aluminium butt.
Weight: 140 grams
Sheath: Leather with metal rim

Wow that cleaned up well!
I have an old mora from the 50's that I have often thought of cleaning up like that...but I figure all those blemishes were earned over the yrs.
