I got to spend some quality time today in the snow covered woods with Tony and Marcelo.

Skills practiced included fire starting, tracking, orienteering, staying warm and dry while traveling in snow, and keeping my dogs from eating Marcelo’s dog.

We where successful on all counts.

A good time was had by all, …including Marcelo’s dog.

Here are a few photos:

looks like a good time! i just found out that one of our members lives only about 15 minutes from me, so we will probably get together sometime next week...

i've had the chance to see mike's collection first hand (and i don't think i saw even half of it!) and it is huge! i would definitely say that mike is a fan of the BRKTs

Mike showed us a beautiful little state park today - Lover's Leap, ahem. steep wooded blazes with a quintessential New England view at the top. Not unlike our brother the bear, as big as Mike is, he glides through the snow with ease. All the while, sharing a bit of local history and lore. I have to say my little Sadie surprised me as she held her own against that big scary beast. (the dog ;)). Tony was there to dazzle us with his physical comedy. He made those falls look so real!

Ahem, I recall you taking a couple of spills yourself buddy:p

Mike always gives a great explanation of the area we hike in. I had a great time fellas.

It was definately interesting as the dogs argued over dominance.

Here are a couple of shots from my camera, not as good as Mike's though.

Looks like fun, and anyone who takes their dog to the woods is on my good guy list.

Looks like a great time and a great hiking spot.

Big Mike, could you tell me about your whompin' stick, er I mean walking stick? I'm thinking of making one with some offcuts I have and would like to get some dimensions from you. It looks like something I'd like to use on the trail.
