Unsharpened portion near the heel of the edge

i used my double stuff followed by the interrupted EEF, then strop. I've not taken the Edge pro out in quite some time.

That's what I was thinking too, but I'm pretty sure I've received robosharpened Spydies that were sharpened all the way to the choil. This was shortly after the news of the robotic sharpening was getting to the forums.

Maybe I just didn't notice but I feel like the unsharpened heel has started in the past 3-6 months or so.

That was pretty much a shot in the dark. Between unappealing designs and unmanageable prices, I'm out of the Spyderco market.

I add a choil to my PM2's when they come into use.

These are users. I just hate having an unsharpened portion, which is why I prefer adding a choil. I'm rather attached to my sharpening methods so it works for me.
