A couple days ago I picked up an nice 112 from a fellow forum member...

It's a fine lookin NS 112, that IIRC was made in 1994. The unusual part is the sheath. It is a normal looking black Buck 112 sheath but instead of being embossed with Buck on the flap, it has the Morton Salt Girl on it.

I keep forgetting to charge the batteries for the camera, so I don't have a picture of it yet. Just wondering if anyone had any info on this.

Thanks Mike

Its probably a service knife Buck did for them.As many others they did for Champion Spark Plugs, Coal mines, Police Dept., ect.DM

Yes, I picked up a 110 at the gun show last week that has an advert for a Seattle electrical company, sans sheath. There is also a Boeing knife I passed up for 25 bucks, another guy bought it, moved it to his table and doubled the price. Now that I'm looking for 110's these seem to pop up.

I was raised in a TX county where Morton Salt has a HUGE operation and from time to time I'd see different knives w/ their name on the blade. Buck's knives came up often.DM

I figured it was something they did for the company, I'm curious to know how many Buck did for them. I'm actually glad they didn't put anything on the knife , just the sheath.

I plan on using it so I'm picking up a different sheath for it :D

I think that in the 3 or 4 months that I've been a member of this Forum, that's the first sheath that I've heard of with advertising on it...I'd keep it...

I buy Morton salt...Iodized, of course...if it has chemicals in it, I want it... :D

I'm definetely gonna hang on to it. I just feel kinda funny wearin a sheath that has the Morton Salt Girl on it :D

I'll try to post a couple pics of it tomorrow.
I really like the NS 112, but every time I even think about touchin it, it gets fingerprints on it lol ..

Good move 338 get a different sheath.I've seen a coal company's name on the sheath. But mostly I see them w/ names in the wood handles or itched in the blade.DM

myuniquename collects buck 110 knives with advertising on them and she
displays then as such..

Bucksway collects 112's BUT he has a separate
112 sheath collection with advertising such as morton salt that he displays!!
so if you ever decide to let it leave i KNOW he would love to add it to the ones he has..!

at the BCCI shows they LOVE to see displays with theams!

about all you can say of mine is
Buck 110's i like..

Thanks Dave but this one is stayin right here :D

I trust everyone knows that there are literally thousands of different Buck advertizing knives out there both done by the plant and by third parties. I can't even keep up with the data on these knives much less collect them all. I do have samples of all the various treatments that I know of but I have had to stop there because of the volume involved. To those who wish to focus on this area you have my best. There is a lot of interesting stuff out there when you consider blade, handle, sheath and packaging variations. There are also a lot of rare knives in this category in the service award and presentation knife categories.

If you only chase 'factory' Buck special project 112's ...theres not THAT many....But cool is cool,I have a 112 with what looks like a toy solider and the name Morgan in black etch. I dont think Buck did it but I like it anyway! I also have 2 Schwans 112' [ice plant and trucks] with gold etch blade and lazer bolsters...HARD to find 4different 112's and a 110 in the series 200 total for the 112's. only distrect mangers got them for meeting sales quotaes in fall of 03..If you made 4 months in a row you got the 110 and a display case..Oh I just love the Rare stuff!

I must really be losing it... I could have sworn I put up a picture of this one a while back
