Lemme see some unusual blades!
Tell why and what attracted you to it.

I like Wharncliffes.
Not super unusual but rare enough.
I like them because not too many carry one or have even seen one. The reverse curve and straight edge appeal to my sense of design. I'll admit that the usefulness of this blade is restricted, but I only do straight cutting.
I'll do sheepsfoot too (Spyderco Mariner comes to mind).

Okay what you got?

This is one of my weirder blades by shape, though the funky stuff is all happening up on the spine side, the edge itself is a basic, useful shape (and hollow ground thin enough to cut well too):

Then there's my folding Russian butterknife flipper, a fantastically well made knife that I love. The odd blade shape is fine, lots of straight edge, and just enough point to barely count as one:

I really like upswept blades like on this Swish:

Just scored a hinderer Skinner blade. I've wanted one for a while, but it is kind of off the reservation for me. Looks like it will be a love it or hate it kind of thing. Here's hoping....

I’m a big fan of odd blade shapes; mostly variations of hawkbill, wharnecliffe, reverse tanto, vorpal etc.

I had just purchased a talon blade earlier the morning this blade came up for sale.
I must have looked at it like a gagillion times before buying it.
Don't usually purchase stuff I'm not going to use and lets face it, not a whole lot of use out there for a talon type blade.
Just had to have it!

i thought those were finger holes
but only tiny or slim fingers can fit
in to the holes :)
the first fore finger groove
where the holes lie makes the width
wider than necessary a surface for
the finger to curl over.
overall the handle is short.
near 3-finger
imo, making it a design that won't fit
every hand size.
and its possible that the holes were
to lighten and create some balanced
feel.

Not sure how rare it is. Seems "common enough" in traditional knives, at any rate. I have a Case tear drop pattern, and GEC 1/2 congress with a Wharncliffe blade.
I believe Case and Rough Ryder also have one on their current "improved muskrat" model.

I think the most "unusual" blade shape I have is a Buck 877. I'm not even sure what to call it other than "weird"...

Usually, when I chose to go with an odd blade shape, it is out of curiosity.

This is a nice Ti framelock but I can not get past the blade shape. I have no idea why I pulled the trigger. Maybe I'll give it a spin on the exchange.

What is that one? It's weird enough that I feel a need to learn more.
