Unusual Experience

After the wedding we went on our own CD tour. (Castles & Distillery's).
Had a great time and looking forward to going back one day.
The visitors center let us (me) try the 12, 18GR, and 30 YO.
Needless to say the wife drove us out of there.

I would have developed a case of Infi paranoia and said something like this:

"It was a christmas present, I don't even like knives. I think it's called a boo-sai."

LMAO.

Speaking of distillery tours, has anyone done bourbon tours in the Louisville, KY area? Was up there for a conference this past fall and was struck by how many distillers are in the area: Woodford Reserve, Makers Mark, Knob Creek, Jim Bean, Heaven Hill, Wild Turkey, Buffalo Trace, Four Roses.

Guyon -- I was in vicinity for last year's AAU Championships (Tae Kwon Do).

Hit Maker's Mark, Woodford Reserve, and Jim Beam. Great fun for me and a couple of my girls. Brought a bottle of each back with me.

A favorite dream of mine is to do a tour of the distilleries of Scotland. Maybe as a walking trip. So much great scotch I haven't tasted yet. :) :)

OldPhysics,

Welcome to "My World" the Wonderfull world of Busse (so to speak)

I have started a few down this path, and continue to do so.

I remember people's faces the first time the picked up and actually held a Busse knife at a show, some of them angry thinking before they actually handled them that it all must be Hype, that no knife was really as good as all that.

Well, a few of them were still angry when they left, I do not really care much about them, I do on the otherhand have fond memories of those who started angry and became converts.

I remember people watching the Busse Video and staying to watch the loop repeat itself over and over, handling/fondling usually a Large Busse knife the entire time, then purchasing one to three at that time and calling later to get at least one more for themselves or some times one for a child or loved one.

Give Busse knives away.

I say again Give Busse knives away.

For some folks it is the only way to get them to use a knife that costs this much, they will for the most part come back and get more, tough to eat just one.

Just see how it feels.

I am in the next month or so, going to see a Marine Sgt, a Young woman being Deployed to Iraq in a few months, I am Taking a selection of Busse knives for her to choose from, Basic #7 & #9 an original Satin Jack,(the first one shipped by the Factory for resale by a dealer) a Satin Natural Outlaw E model and a Straight Handled Steel Heart .300 thickness with slotted screws and a High Desert Low ride Sheath with the leg strap, she can have any one of these.

True, she is Related to me by Marriage(She is the neice of my Daddy In-law)

This will be her first Busse knife.

That's a pretty awesome thing to do. Any one of those knives will be many times better than the knives she can find in her local PX. I'm sure she will appreciate that fact and put it to good use in the desert.

Andre -- now THAT sounds like just the thing to do.

I'm an old USAF lifer, myself.

Have to think about it a bit...but I imagine I can find a good way to give away a Busse myself some time this year. Where I work, we still have a good number of military professionals (mostly active duty). And they're rotating into the war zone with some regularity. I'll keep my eyes open and when I find one rotating in...he or she won't rotate without a reliable Busse.

Now...which one??

infi pimp? thats too cool.

are there any points for effort? i'm still trying to convince my buddies that there are knives out there beyond the PX and wal-mart. they all love my HR and at the same time think i am nuts to spend that much on a knife. i am making some progress, but it is slow. at least they have stopped buying united.

I'm in the exact same boat. They love the look of my new Busse's, but when I tell them to stop buying junk, they fret about the money. I think I might be able to convince them while we're deployed though. What else are they supposed to do with all of that combat pay?
