Recommendation? Up Goes The Ante $$: Advice?

A show is the way to go.
I met Thorburn at a show. His stuff is spectacular and ranges about $1000-$2200. I handled a bunch of them, talked to him a bunch and settled on one I really liked for $1000. Very happy with the whole experience.

Absolutely a show.

If I had 2 grand to spend on knives, I'd be planning my trip to the Eugene show right now.

The experience of the show is worth it... whether you buy anything or not.

But you'll buy something. :)

I've done a sell off and consolidate (but not for a $2000 custom ). I love the Shiro F95T that I got as a result and it is my user 5 days a week. But, I do hesitate using it for any rough stuff for fear of doing some harm. I also know that I still yearn for more/other knives in spite of having The One.

So, will you bring yourself to actually use it? Do you think you will be content?

Hi, I do not think that I will use it. I'll probably just show it to friends, family and instagram :) As usual, I will be content for a little while, and then the itch will come back again.

I figured I would poke my head in and say that I just spend $2000 on my first folder ever and im super happy with it. It a Andre Thorburn L36M with Damasteel, Julien Marchal Engraved Zirconium and Carbon fiber. Normally I wouldn't think it was worth it but you find the right knife that speaks to you and it all makes sense as to why you need or want that folder.

I wanted to buy one like you describe, but with my wife standing nearby I was lucky to get out with the one I did.

Post a pic of what you got man I would love to see it.
I love Thorburns knives and daily carry at least one

Here it is. I'm thinking about having a pocket slip made for daily carry as I don't know how robust the bolsters are.

Don't even worry about it the Zirconium hold up really well for daily carry with no pocket pouch needed.

Good to hear. I might get a slip anyway since I have too many keys and coins etc.
I also want to very carefully sharpen it with my wicked edge system...
