This hasn't been done in a while....

This is for those who carry in the pocket using a pocket-clip folder.
Do you choose to carry "Tip up" or "Tip down"?

Tip down for me:

It was done more recently than you think. I prefer spine to seam in a pocket and the pocket choice is the deciding factor.

Side pants or kangaroo pocket = Tip Up.
Rear, shirt, breast, or vest pocket = Tip Down

It's not a deal breaker for me either. I checked tho, and my pocket clips are mostly tip up. And as I looked further, I realized I also put my 110,112, 501 in the belt pouch in a tip up postition.

Depends on the length of the knife. My thumb is faster to the opener on a longer knife if it's tip down, reverse for a shorter knife.

Then also flippers and wave openers are always tip down.

Ummm - no, they're not.
Wave opening a tip down knife just plain doesn't work - think about it...
I'm not sure I've received any flipper in that configuration in recent years, though they may have had the option.

TIp up only. Front pocket, tucked against the seam, ain't gonna open accidentally. Plus, the ladies prefer tip up! 😮

90% + of the knives I like and buy are tip up. It is just the way they are built. My Hinderer comes with a choice and I choose up on it. But I have owned tip down and it really doesn't matter. I figure it out someway :).

I prefer tip up but it depends on the knife. Some, like the Kershaw Leek for example, can be set up either way but the knife rides deeper in the pocket when set up tip down.

Yes.

Hah, but seriously.. If tip-down carry is the only option on a knife where I really enjoy all other design elements, I won't let it dissuade me from buying/carrying the knife. Typically though, if the option exists for tip-up carry, that is the correct method for me..

I've refrained from buying a Spyderco Military because its tip-down only. When the M2 comes out with the comp lock and four position clip, I will hop on it.

Tip down is the way. I've sworn off buying tip-up only, except for mini knives, which go in the front pocket.

Doesn't matter much.
I would prefer tip down yet pocket clip positioning is not a universal choice.

Most are carried tip up.
