Doesn't matter to me.

Use to switch folders to tip up but it doesn't matter to me any more. However, it's set up will work for me now.

This hasn't been done in a while....
These threads come up and the results are predictable, always the same.
I have my preferences, and I have my reasons. Other people have different preferences and different reasons.
But how I actually carry- my favorite knives for carry are the PM2 and Manix2, one of them carries tip up and the other carries tip down. Tip up is less safe to deploy but I've gotten used to it. If I had a rigid preference I would miss out on carrying one of these fantastic models. I don't use lanyards or wave openers so that makes a difference too. Sometimes I carry a Spyderco Military which is always tip down. A knife of that size would be very difficult to deploy one-handed if it was tip up.

I voted tip up, because that's what my primary carry usually is, but it really depends on what pocket it's going to be clipped on. For front pocket I prefer tip up. For back pocket I prefer tip down. I often carry both...

It depends on the knife but I usually carry tip up
An exception is my Hinderers that I carry tip down

Not sure why anyone would consider tip up to be less safe? Can anyone please explain that?
Some people are overly concerned that weak detents or assisted/autos will open in the pocket. Tip down keeps the blade spine against the pocket seam (plus gravity keeping the blade closed).

I voted tip down. Honestly, I wear a lot of cargo pants so my knife is usually in my right cargo pocket not clipped to anything. A good number of my pocket clips have been removed because of this.
The one constant, LM Wave+ in a sheath on my belt.

Like most things in life, find what works for you.

Tip down, way down. It's just safer that way, besides In my opinion the only reason for tip up is faster deployment. And when the detent in the knife gives way the knife may inadvertently open (downwards, seen it happen) tip down, it doesn't matter if the detent fails or whatever, it's not possible unless it defies gravity and opens upward
But then we'd have a whole host of different problems at that point
