Read my new post. I ended up with more money than expected and can afford a 301 now

Next week, Im going on vacation to an Outdoors store. (Hunting fishing camping etc.)
Last year when I went, they had a TON of high-end knives.
The 350 was one of them.
Hopefully, its there again this year, but until then, the excitement of getting a new knife next week is all I think about. :D Its been a while.

But I was wondering...
With the smaller size, alot of G10 and a liner-lock, does it still feel tough?
How does it compare to higher-priced ZT? (Fit and finish)
Have you used it hard/abused it?
Pictures would be nice.
Im concerned that the lack of a "big-ol-beefy-titanium" framelock makes it feel insignificant.
Thanks in advance.
Bladeboss.

Tough as hell.
Fit and finish on mine was perfect by my standards :D
I've used it as my camp knife and batoned it through some wood in testing. Keeping the liner lock from re-engaging again to prevent possibly breaking it while batoning was a different story
The steel liners on this thing are tough as hell.

My 0350 is in M390 though so taking the batoning thing with a grain of salt. I haven't tested the S30V version so I can't say as to that.

I have de-assisted it because I prefer a manual knife. My pivot is screwed down relatively tight so I can't really flip it well but it's no knock against the knife. I'm a Nazi when it comes to blade play. Makes a great manual folder as well.

2 things I was hoping to hear. :)

It is a lot of money for the cost.
It is a big and heavy knife for its blade length compared to similar sized knives.
The fit and finish is great for a knife in its' price range.
Best to handle it and compare it to others then buy the one that puts the biggest smile on your face.
It may not be a good EDC knife, especially if you work in an environment where it may scare the hoi paloi...it is an intimidating looking knife.
I rather enjoy carrying mine and use it nearly every day at work for simple tasks of cutting nylon strapping, plastic wrapped pallets of stuff, etc.

I'm really considering getting one but I am stuck between the m390 or the blackwashed version.

Think of it this way, M390; as stainless as you can get and one of the best steels for edge retention short of A11/10V/K294/K390 etc. vs S30V in a stone-washed DLC coating. I will admit that the blackwash is sexy but I'm a guy that prefers to have function over form as opposed to the latter. I don't think that the BW version of the 0350 is even out yet :(

Very true... I am leaning towards the m390. The BW version is out. I saw it for sale at BladeHQ. I suppose the m390 is worth the $40 upgrade.

I also have the zt 0350 in m390. It s a heavy knife for a 3.25 inch blade but the recurve blade has a lot of cutting edge. It s a very strongly built knife. Liners and pivot are very strong. I have also de assisted mine and tightened the pivot to eliminate blade play. I can flip mine with a firm effort. Blade is centered and the lockup is tight. Good detente. At the price points , I think the knife is a good buy with either the s30v or the m390 steel. Carries as well as my zt 551 and strikes me as being somewhat tougher than the 551. Still one of zt s best knives.

Mine was great....

-Very solid feel.
-Great ergonomics.
-Flips open like a rocket.
-Awesome F&F, no play, centered
-S30V steel

And don't worry about it not feeling tough because it's not a Ti framelock. It's just fine. :)

I've used mine pretty hard for a couple of years. s30v is easy to sharpen and holds a good edge, the lock is tough and hasn't moved at all no blade play of any kind. Its a bit wide in the pocket but still carries well. Pretty hard to find a negative for it, some folks have trouble sharpening a recurve other than that its a good solid knife. Fit and finish are very good, feels good in my hands and the coating is very durable. The only thing that kicked it out of my pocket is the zt566 is narrower closed and takes less pocket room while still having about the same amount of blade.

thats after my wife used it to cut some wire mesh, I have no idea what possessed her to do so but she did and that mostly wiped off.

Depending on the gauge of the wire mesh I might cringe but still...you just don't do that to a man's knife.

First time I've ever heard that, and certainly not my experience. I'm sending mine to Kershaw for sharpening......on this one, I just plain give up.

My Buck Vantage Pro in s30v in a whole 'nother story for some reason. It holds the same tough edge, and it's easy to touch up.

Not many people have used an 0350 as hard as I have. It's tougher than nails. Literally. :D

I've had my eye on the 350 for a long time just due to the beauty of the blade. I always put off getting it due to the weight and knowing I would always choose a lighter folder to leave the house with over it and it would collect dust. That being said, I received the black washed version yesterday, and holy hell! I'm glad I finally bought it. Feels perfect in my hand and built like a tank. I don't know what kind of hard use you plan on putting yours thru, but I think it will take it. If it doesn't , your using the wrong tool for the job.

Ditto. They're even better de-assisted in my opinion--they still open fast, but can also be opened slowly if non-knif-people are present.

I haven't tried deassisting mine but I like it a lot. It's a tank of a knife, maybe a little big for some people as an edc knife but its worth every penny.

I like mine alot but it's not a 301. If it's your choice you can't go wrong. I just want to add if you plan on de-assisting it and voiding the warranty then look at buying a Blem from the Guy that sells them for less than $100. I don't know if he's an approved vendor of the BF so you have to look him up on your own. It won't take long to find him.

I have 2, one is a rotated EDC. I like it so much I bought a backup which I generally don't do. I don't think I'll ever need the backup though..:) For me the S30V holds an edge and sharpens great.

You should check out Kershawguy.com!

Dave/KershawGuy is a very much approved vendor around here!
I still HATE that he does not ship to Europe though, you guys are so lucky to have him ;)
