UPDATE. A couple ZT 350 questions.

First time I've ever heard that, and certainly not my experience. I'm sending mine to Kershaw for sharpening......on this one, I just plain give up.

My Buck Vantage Pro in s30v in a whole 'nother story for some reason. It holds the same tough edge, and it's easy to touch up.

It's all in the heat treatment :) Buck's S30V is done by Paul Bos. Enough is said there.

Dave/KershawGuy is a very much approved vendor around here!
I still HATE that he does not ship to Europe though, you guys are so lucky to have him ;)

Ehhh, there's plenty of other places to shop ;)

As for a 0350, I can't say I've been gentle on the ones I've had and they took a beating without batting an eyelash....
Go for it.

Not many people have used an 0350 as hard as I have. It's tougher than nails. Literally. :D

I'm sorry that the tip was NOT tougher than nails... Yes, it's a great knife; I've had four or five. My favorite is the composite model. My son loved the tiger-striped S30V.

To the OP: Have you handled one? It is solidly built no doubt, as is the case for most ZTs. If you have big hands though, the grip might feel too cramped. The 350 was too small for me.

Actually, the tip was. It got lightly chipped after a drop to the concrete. I listened to the people here who said to sharpen it out, and it looked tacky so I ground it down to a pry tip. It's ugly as sin now, but it looked worse when I did what a bunch of peoppe recommended.

This is true. I could never get a full grip on mine, but I'm used to it since I'm a big traditional nut.

OP, have you also considered the 0200? Mine is perfect. :)

Here's mine...

...dressed in Kryptoglow scales. For the price its a great knife. Yes, its a bit heavy for some, its a bit wide for some, for me its fine. Compared to my other ZT's, its right there. I personally like it with speedsafe. My other ZT's are manual except this one. I tried it without the spring but mine does not have a detent ball, so its a no go. Aside from the fact the blade could possibly open in the pocket, it also had centering issues without the spring. Most do have a detent ball but mine was a limited run (0350WW) and didn't. For me, the only downside was its not a very pointy knife but I'm over it.

Just a side note, Kryptoglow scales do not allow speedsafe to operate as intended but a dremel and 30 minutes fixed that!

Do yourself a favor and buy it, and buy it from Kershawguy. Send him an email on his pricing before you buy from your vacation destination, fast shipping and great prices. Just do it!

I like mine alot but it's not a 301. If it's your choice you can't go wrong. I just want to add if you plan on de-assisting it and voiding the warranty then look at buying a Blem from the Guy that sells them for less than $100. I don't know if he's an approved vendor of the BF so you have to look him up on your own. It won't take long to find him.

Kershawguy.com (Dave) is the first place to look for all things Kershaw/ZT. Oh, and by the way, removing the torsion bar (de-assisting) will not void the warranty.

Good news!
I ended up with more money than I had expected to have before my trip.
I now have enough for a 301. (Which the store also sells.)
So....
Is the 301 worth the extra cash? I HAVE handled a 301. Last year when I went to the store. It feels like a BA knife.
I dont own any titanium knives so that is a big draw for me.

The 0301 is an awesome knife. I like it more than the 0350 (although the 0350 does get more pocket time due to its smaller size). Of all my folding knives, the 0301 is the most comfortable to handle and use.

You can send it in for a new blade for $30. At least that's what in says in the little pamphlet that came with my 301.

Which I plan on doing at some point. Hard to justify right now though as my 0350 has been dropped as my primary EDC.
