Update!: (finally) Sheepsfoot Slipjoint

View attachment 1236707

All finished. This one is for the wife. She picked out the handle material a few years ago at a knife show and I finally got around to putting it on a knife. The handle is a stabilized burl, bolsters, pins and liners are Nickel Silver. The blade is O1 and riding on a bronze pivot bushing. Overall length if 5 7/8" and measures 3 1/4" when closed. I'll have to remember to take a picture a year from now, after its been riding in a purse and has been bounced around with keys, change and what not. Comments and Critiques always welcome. Thanks for looking.
That looks fantastic, Tim! I like it a lot!:)

THAT........really disturbed me John!:eek::D

The wife sent me this....she made a bracelet that matched the handle of her knife....she calls it "accessorising". Idk...I love to see my knives in use, cutting things, hanging out in nature etc. This reminds me of when my Springer Spaniel, Murphy, would come back from the groomer with a bow in his hair. He looked so sad and defeated. I can see the same "wtf!?" in the in the bolsters as I saw in Murphy's eyes.

I can relate to Murphy. I had a cocker spaniel as a kid, and all he wanted to do was chase, birds, rabbits and run everywhere. When he was washed, just went and rolled in the dirt as soon as he could.:eek:

Lol. I had a cocker and a Schnauzer
and they were the same way. A dog just wants to be a dog...not a baby doll lol.

Absolutely lovely work! Your wife has great taste and is one lucky gal!
Thanks! She thought I had great taste in handle material and that we had been together so long that I knew what she liked. I think it broke her heart and when I told her I just used the material that she picked out some time ago. But hey, I remembered that she picked it out so thats gotta count for something right? :)

I don't know about that.:oops: They are hard to predict/work out sometimes.:mad::D

Well my one year timer went off 4 year late but here it is! She still has the knife after almost 5 years! The only thing that's changed is a few more scratches and now its dressed in a slip sheath (by Redmeadow). It's life is mostly opening Amazon boxes, nothing too tough. I'll get told it needs sharpened a few times a year but usually all it needs is the glue cleaned off the blade. Living in the Dry weather of Montana has kept the O1 still pretty shiny. Lets hope it makes it another 5 years! 20240904_160939.jpg

Good to see you John
Hey Scott! Been a ghost lately I know. Tryin to get through my last year as a worker bee and Murphy's law seems to have put a bullseye on my ass!
