My last giveaway was for my 1,000th post, so it seems appropriate to do it again on this, my 2,000th post.

This will be a short one, as I'll draw a winner on Christmas Eve (Monday, December 24) at or around 8:00 pm EST. Your post number will be your entry.

Many of us in these parts like peanut style knives. This one is a Camillus from the mid-1960s. It is a model 22, called Pony Jack. According to an old Camillus catalog the handles are maize delrin. The physical dimensions of the knife are:

2.8125" closed
5" w/sabre clip blade open (1.875" blade length)
4.4375" w/pen blade open (1.3125" blade length)
0.375" wide

Since I want to thank the good folks of this traditional section who have taught me so much, you must be a regular contributor to this sub-forum to enter.

If you are a paying member of BF you get two entries.

That´s a fine looking old gem of a knife!

I´m in, thanks for the chance - Doug!

What an absolute beauty Doug. Congratulations on 2000 posts and please count me in. Thanks for your generosity and good luck to everyone :)

Put me in the hat as well; that one has a lot of bling for a production peanut. Sure it's got some blemishes now, but that is a great little knife. I'd be honored to have it.

Count me in.* Good looking little knife you have there and it looks as old as I am but the down-side is that if I were to win is that the Knife would outlast me.*
Thanks for the chance and you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.!**

When I logged on this morning I received a PM from member glennbad offering to sweeten the deal on this Camillus giveaway. Here is what he wrote:

"I was looking at your giveaway thread, and had an idea. I noticed the knife had a crack in the handle covers. It does give it character, but I was thinking to sweeten the deal, if you wanted to offer this, I would be willing to do a mod for no charge to put some new covers on that knife for the winner if they wanted. It would be limited to the products I have on hand, but I have quite a few choices."

How's that for good news first thing in the morning? Thank you Glenn!

Lots of posts for sure! You must have a lot to contribute too. That's a good looking knife, I'm in on this one. A new set of covers/scales would make it a very special knife to add to a collection!

I'm in too. That's a great looking knife. The scars do not bother me as I have a few myself. Not to mention I regularly carry a case peanut that has cracked scales on both sides a chip on one and a broken blade. The idea of a Custom Camillus on the other hand who could say no. I have seen glennbads handywork on some other threads and be has some real talent. Thanks for all the posts. That's the part I really like, I missed most of them since I just recently joined BF but I look forward to reading the next two thousand. The time you spend here and the knowledge you pass on is all the gift I really need. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
