I originally started this thread to gauge what the Professional Soldier Insingo model was like. Instead of starting a new thread I'm going to leave my feedback here now that I've got the knife and used it for the last couple of days.

When I got this knife I immediately put it in my pocket and carried it to dinner with my wife. The knife is so thin that it doesn't really print much at all. It was pretty comfortable overall. I then carried it today in my back pocket. Again, hardly noticeable. There were only a few times that I felt it.

The knife is pretty comfortable. It is a 3 finger grip with my pinkie resting on the butt of the knife. The edges are rounded and feel good. The knife came razor sharp and the edge really pops against the black coating. This knife doesn't feel as natural in my hand as a folder but it also doesn't have as long of a handle. I bought this knife to wear as a neck knife around the house when i'm in gym shorts whether opening packages or doing some yard work and can't carry my folder. For that roll it will excel. This knife would not replace my folder - not because of any inherent design of the knife but because I've tried the whole fixed instead of a folder thing and I didn't see any positives in my daily carry for "strength" but saw plenty of negatives for convenience. I wouldn't EDC this daily as a neck knife because I don't really like a knife hanging from my neck in public; I'll stick with a folder.

I've owned a few of these neck knives and I would say that this is my favorite. The Insingo blade shape/grind will lend well to utility chores (although I like the drop point on my Inkosi better) and it is light, thin, and made of great steel. This thing is a winner if you're into the small fixed blade/neck knife thing.

Well, despite the lack of interest in this thread I just ordered one. I want a small sheath knife to use when I am not carrying a folder clipped to me and wanted a wharncliffe type blade shape for utility work. I also had a 60 dollar coupon so that helped make the decision as well!

Good idea, I think. I love the Insingo blade style. The PS Insingo is on my short list to get.

I hope you enjoy it. :)

Thanks friend, I'll report back with thoughts when it comes in. It should be here by Saturday.

have the Insingo PS, is very usable, the Insingo blade just "Works" (perfectly) only thing I would add is a "larger "Scaled up version" in the 7-8"OAL size & with a thicker blade.

My wife comments on how much better the Insingo grind cuts (vs std 21 grind)

I have the original professional soldier when they first came out several years ago. Late last year I had some ebay bucks and did not know what to buy and purchased the Tanto version of the professional soldier. Both excellent knives and I think they will serve you well for your needs as mentioned.

I believe it was your original thread that pushed me over the edge to get one. I think it was 2009? Wanted to see if anyone else had experience with the Insingo model specifically.

Can't wait to get it in.

Thanks, I did a review on the Professional Soldier years ago. I think its the only one I ever did, I should do more of em.....lol.

I have a PS Insingo but it never gets used because it has the newer style sheath and I don't like the loose plastic sheath at all. Maybe I'll send it off to get a decent sheath at some point. My clip point PS has the old kydex sheath and it goes with me every day in my flight bag or with me when I'm on a hike.

I really liked the one I had. It made for a great utility knife but the sheath was terrible. I ordered a sheath from glockcrazz and it was probably one best kydex sheaths I had. Really recommend it. Also one of the smaller sharpshooter pocket sheaths fits it nicely.

I bought the insingo ps for my second cousin last Xmas. I too was concerned about the sheath and asked him to rivet near the mouth for retention. He is a young marine stationed in Okinawa.

Only got to handle the knife a day or two before giving it to him. Seemed like a dandy and I would be surprised if he still had it lol

I have one in tanto. It is a good knife and I agree with the other comments about the retention of the sheath. The retention is not so good but the sheath itself I like as it is very flat. I think I added a photo to this forum of the mod I did to the sheath after looking at ideas that other people had done.

I'm very curious how it performs too, particularly with edge retention being the little lower hardness. The CRK site lists it as 55-57 RC but I'm pretty sure it's 58-59 RC these days. Curious how the grind performs too with the blade being a little thicker than a Sebenza.

I read somewhere that this was wrong and they were the same hardness as the folders.
