Update on SpyderHawk and Ronin

Hi Sal. I really liked the Syderhawk when I handled it at the Spirit of Steel Show. I will buy one as soon as they show to be available, and probably a few more as gifts.

That looks REAL nice...well worth the wait.
I'll definately have to buy at least 2, maybe three of them.
Mr.G--methinks you'd better make whole lot of them, because I have a strange feeling it's gonna be a "high demand" item once people get a look at them.

Sweet!
Does it come in PE?
Will it ever have a SS version?
if so, I'll be running around imitating Hannibal and says "Bowels in or bowels out?"
;)

Yeah I wanna lnow if it comes plan edge as well and if there will be any handle options. I don't like those plastic type handels much... Also is the clip reverseable??
thanks for answerin all our questions!

No plain edge planned at this time. No other handle variations planned at this time.

:( :( :o :(

Damn a steel handled plain edged spyderhawk would be my holy grail of folders. I'd never need another knife.

Tell ya what...I'm betting that if everyone made sure to buy a SpyderHawk, and convinced all their knife-loving friends to do the same, THEN the company might be encouraged to expand the line...have you noticed that the PE Merlins are being dropped from the line-up in '03? This is due to what?...you got it: DISAPPOINTING SALES!!

Personally, I can't figure out what some folks think a PE pruner blade will do for them that a SE simply cannot do better.

Hawkbill come on now SE don't give you a straight cut and you have to do a bunch of sawing with PE you could just slice right through espeacially with a hawkbill that will hold the material.

I'm with calyth on this one ; If the Spyderhawk was made before the movie, THIS is the Spydie the evil Dr. Lechter would've carried!

I'm goin' back to peruse Hawkbill's "eye candy" ; EXCUSE ME....

AET ;) (ATE on the "home" forum ;))

Merlin dropped? Hm... so my ATS-55 Merlin is now somewhat a discontinued item....
Come on.... I need a SS PE SpyderHawk. :(

Now, I know plainedge pruner blades have been around for hundreds of years (I have several antique pruners), but that doesn't mean I want the same in my modern folder.
With my serrated Harpy, I can grab material in one of the large teeth and cut a clean line just as pretty as I please!

To be more specific, only the PLAINEDGE Merlin is being axed from the line-up. The serrated Merlin will remain.

Slightly different pic from the catalog which also shows the Merlin for scale.

Love the SpyderHawk... But I won't ever buy a knive with FRN handle again so I have to pass. If a SS or G10 handle version comes out I'll buy 3 or 4 of them.

Sal , so that means that those with ENDURA on the handles would be collectables.

My dream Spyderhawk.
Carbon fiber scales with a Plain Edge.....
That would be a mean looking blade.....

I'm with you! I don't get it, sal asked what we would want on the spyderhawk and than gave us the opposite of what we asked. Now hawkbill is running around telling us to by ten of them so they wil make more of them in different styles...If you want em to sell why not just make 'em like we asked to begin with...I for one won't be buying one until it come out in the style I want!

I'm not trying to be jerk I'm just confused this seems like a very wierd way to do things.
 :(
