update on state and federal ivory bans

Mark, Thanks for keeping on top of this.

I will post my comment on the other site here, too:

Folks, write, or call your representatives and tell them how you feel about this. An email may be ignored, but some human will have to read a letter or answer a phone.
Impress them that a ban on 20,000 year old mammoth ivory would be as silly as a law requiring all major city retail businesses to stop having mule drawn delivery wagons parked in the alleyways. It would solve a problem that does not exist....and create one that isn't a problem now.

Our local buy and sell in Canada Kijiji is owned by Ebay

The long-time rules prohibit knives, now amended to allow collectable and kitchen stuff.

The rules prohibit ivory items

They also now prohibit bone - I assume to avoid ivory being sold as bone.

So i guess this means i can't hunt wooly mammoth anymore then.
these guys don't even think. what is next we can't buy petrified wood either? Dinosaur bones, when will they stop and think for a minute.
yea poachers should be shot onsite (Ends the Problem).instead of a big paint brush is used for everything right or wrong. the actions of a few affect so many, yet many are forced to pay the price with big interest for the few that break the rules. Sorry Rant mode off now.

Mark, and others - THANK YA"LL for your support about this silly effort to ban all ivory, and imagine - ban mammoth ivory? I guess we're going to prevent the mammoth from going extinct?
