Update; Rehafted! China brand hatchet worth fooling with?

Can’t wait to start a thread, “which axe is best for food prep?”

Home cooked vittles, hard to beat ‘em.

My Russian topor is my favorite for chopping frozen salmon filets. Good weight and little curve in the bit.

Like was already said, a tool is a tool. I've had some fun taking a grinder to axe heads with no collector value and making a "bearded" pattern or other modification. That one looks like it could do with the poll being cleaned up, which you could do with a grinder OR if you've some patience you could cold hammer it back with a ball-peen and get that hand-hammered look. All in all it's a head you can play with using whatever shaping and grinding techniques you want to try out and then you get to make a cool handle as well. Now you've got a unique hatchet all your friends will be jealous of.
