Update to Cougar Story

Awesome job to Rh for starting the charity knife idea, to the rest of the guys who want to chip in, and thanks to A.G. who has once again shown kick ass integrity and concern.

And to Mo, get back to work! :) How are ya bud?

I'm down to send this guy a knife...who is taken donations??? Lets get him a nice Randall Knife...with something on it!

I'd think a decent size FB would be a good idea in combination with a folder.
I'm think a 5" FB and a good one-handed opener.

I don't want to let this drop off the list - can one of you "B.C.'ers" on this thread volunteer to do the verification, so we're not sending stuff to the wrong guy? Perhaps locating the daughter might be better, since he's obviously not going home for a while.

Sounds like this is rolling right along! Ron, if you're committed to kicking in the FB, I'll send my ante to you. I owe you at least that for the sweet Model 1 you gave me in the baby contest.

Calyth should probably do that, I'll hopefully be in Vancouver by September but I have school to worry about.

Um... how should I ask?
I have no idea how... should I just phone them up and stuff?

I live in Victoria and would be willing to organize / deliver your donations. Someone please contact me off the forum.

While the hospital he is at is close to me, where he lives is 200 miles away.

the amount of generosity in this little tight knit groupe of ours never seems to amaze me. Out of all the forums i've been on regarding verious different topics this has gotta be one of they nicest

FYI, I have sent off a few e-mails in order to get in touch with David Parker's family and will let everyone know of my success / failure. My next step will be to telephone the hospital.

Well I have managed to get an e-mail forwarded to the family of Mr. David Parker and have been advised that they will get in touch with me if "they so desire".

Sorry if my e-mail was interpreted wrong. I totally understand the situation of the family and the person who sent me the e-mail. I just wanted to quote part of the reply in order to clarify the status. I did not interpret any attitude from the sender of the e-mail.

Stay tuned.

I grew up on Vancouver Island, mainly victoria and Ucluelet but we used to tie the boat up in port alice to deliver sometimes, nice town and yes there is a ton of wildlife there.

Currently live up north now, but still a knife nut.... thanks guys for helping this person out and donating a new knife to him.

AG: I did and it doesn't seem to get too much attention. I made a leather sheath for a Frost Mora and it worked fine so far. I wouldn't go to a bank or something like that though.

Ron and A.G.,

I was in contact this evening with a friend of Mr. David Parker. She was forwarded my name by The Village of Port Alice (http://www.portalice.ca/) who I had e-mailed.

They mentioned that David is doing well and that they expect him home in Port Alice in September. She mentioned that my name was also passed along to David's daughter and if she contacts me, I will put you two in touch as well.

Hope all works out and thank you both for your kind offer.

Keep us posted.

Great job Gary, thanks for the follow through.

Ron and AG, if you are contacted, please let us know so that those who want to pony up can send the $ to you guys for your trouble.
