Miss it how? I remember the post where it was mentioned that Thomas had possibly shot down the idea of a frame lock.

When do they ship? :D

I'm ready, I love the Skyline, and will take it in just about any config.

No I don't think anybody missed that. It wouldn't be a Skyline if you changed to a frame-lock. I think Thomas said that you can get whatever variation you want. It's only money. $50K to start. ;)

Did everyone miss the word FRAME-LOCK?

OD Green Scales, Damascus blade, BFC right next to Kershaw on the blade.

I'll take two, PM sent.

:D

Ok guy, I'm going to wrap this up in another day or two, and will start taking pre-orders. Here's the options you guys will have:

Option A: $90 will get you on the list for the BFC Skyline. If 250 are presold, there will be a bonus prize included with each Skyline as my way of saying thank you. If all 500 are presold, you will get a free Gold Membership, or prorated extension to existing Platinum or Knifemaker memberships. If you buy multiple knives, yes, you'll get multiple memberships or extensions. Yes, this means you'll effectively be getting more than the discount I mentioned earlier. :)

Option B: You wait until they come out and hope for the best. No discounts or special incentives will apply. If they are all presold, welp... you snooze, you lose.

So we will need to deposit the entire $90 per knife to be on the pre order list? How will you be taking the pre orders? Paypal?

So what is the final product? Blue G-10, Stonewashed full flat grind S30V? (as drawn up and shown here)
Silver or black clip? BFC model name or more substantial BladeForums.Com logo?

I thought there would be more options to choose from.

Thanks for keeping this ball rolling.

I definitely support Option A, but I would like to hear about the preorder plan. I'm okay paying in full up-front (and I assume that's the idea), but that might be a hard sell for many folks.

EDIT: Actually, in reading through your post again, Spark, it sounds pretty clear that it's gonna be $90 up front. Okay.

Not that I think all 500 will be presold in the next couple of weeks but I am going to be offline for the next two weeks soon to get married/honeymoon. I won't be back until early May and I would really appreciate you holding one of the preorders for me if they look like they will go quickly.

Simply out of cusiosity, will they be $90 shipped, or $90+ shipping? Sorry if its a bit early to be asking, Im just excited :p

So what did we figure for the final design and specs?

I think I saw, S30V, Blue G-10, Stonewashed blade Flat Ground, right?

And payment is via, Paypal?

If you have to order 500, you could do say, 125 of the top 4 most popular colors. Take a poll. Variety is the spice of life!

Just to recap, the latest details, as far as I can gather:

* blue G10 handles (shade has not been disclosed yet)
* S30V, stonewashed, full flat ground blade
* standard clip
* standard liner lock
* tentative price: $90
* international shipping should be available, obviously at a higher cost
* 500 pieces
* full payment preorder appears the way it's gonna go
* potential bonuses for preorders once 250 and 500 piece goals are reached.

Any blade stamps or etchings (numbering, logos, etc.) have not been officially announced thus far. And I'm guessing the above specs are pretty well dialed-in, so at this point, I wouldn't hold my breath for puce G10, carbon fiber, damascus, elmax, tanto blade, assisted opening, frame lock, seatbelt cutter, brass bolsters, glass breaker, round opening hole, tortoise shell inlays or whatever-the-heck-else.
