I really love shop tours, so much inspiration to other makers!
and yours is definitely no exception, oh, and i like how you store your belts too!

Nice shopbut you need to remove that cutoff hardie out of the anvil. accident???????

Thanks for the shop tour pictures Patrice.

May I ask how do you like the oscillating sander you have?

Oh Patrice,

Sorry man! It's clear you need more tools! But seriously, your shop looks very well equiped and organized.

Looks good bud...

You need more hammers...

Question (if I may be so bold).... is your forge running on a brazing torch with Mapp gas? Propane burners are cheap, brother.... and will cost you less. Larry Zoeller makes a little one that'll fit that puppy too. I have seen commercial LP burners that size too... so maybe you're sporting one of those, anyway.

I really like your use of space.... and that automated faceshield is da bomb!!!!

Rick

Ps.... that family is going on a month long RV road trip up your way... I'd love to see that shop in person, if I get the chance.

Will do, thanks.

I really like it. I do most of the rougher handle shaping on there. For the price (I think I paid less than 100$) you can't beat it. Of course the drums are a little more expensive than belts but a dedicated horizontal 2x72 belt sander is pricey.

You need more hammers...
Yes indeed, a LOT more!

Regular propane torch Rick. Of course it is a little underpowered but sadly until I can get a shop that is separate from the house it will have to do. Insurance company is not too keen about anything else and more importantly so is the "One Who Is To Be Obeyed". ;)

Everything has a place and everything is in its place. My kind of shop! :)

Man, I thought I needed more room Patrice. You're definitely making the most of your space! :)

Now if you had only mentioned the insurance company, I'd give you a hard time... But the mention of the OTHER factor you must consider, I can certainly respect ;) :D

Wonderful setup:) Love that beautiful south bend model A. Also your belt storage solution I will have to copy that one.

Nice lathe Patrice! (looking for a SB or Hardinge lathe myself to replace my cheapy 9x20) You certainly are well organized and I like the layout...very functional for the amount of space.

Thanks guys. I am maybe a little too organized but I like it better than the other side of the spectrum.

Yeah Nick, as much as I like knifemaking, sleeping indoors is a luxury I've come to appreciate. ;)

Chris, your French is coming along great. :D

Bill, I love my Southbend. If you can find one you won't be disappointed.

Looking good, Patrice. Now I do have a question. You have a small collection of hammers I see. Where is the giant collection of tongs? I looked around the anvil but didn't see any. Do you just grap two hammers in one hand and pinch the steel between them to hold? Or do you hold bare-handed? ;) :D

Tongs? We don't need no stinkin' tongs! ;)

I have a few that are in the welding area pics under the table. But of course I need a few dozen more. When the finds are there... :(
