This is the first of some very unusual figured Koa that I sent to K&G to be stabilized.
This Koa has a really good metallic luster that makes it look like things are moving around beneath the surface as light hits the wood from different angles.
The blocks with the light to medium figure are cut extra wide so they can yield 2 or 3 matching handles.
All of the blocks with the really good figure have been cut considerably larger than normal so they can be used on bowies or other fighters where you want a larger sculpted handle.
At first glance the prices look a bit high. But after you compare the size to a standard handle block (5" x 1&1/2" x 1") and the quality of the figure it seems a bit more reasonable. Still kind of spendy, but the good stuff always costs a bit more. I hope you are able to find something you like.
If you looked at the photos before, please take another look. The previous photos were taken in the middle of the night in a dimly lit garage. The new photos show the wood more accurately and look a lot better. This is some really good looking Koa. Even the plainer pieces.
