They just have a lot going on right now, including new government contracts (which in Jerry's own words, get pushed to the front of the line, as they should be).

Oh. Okay. A contract can come along later that takes priority. Got it. Theoretically if said contracts keep coming then might never see mini mean street. I can live with that. Um...I guess I had no business trying for one when I didn't know what the deal was. So now it can be a few more weeks added. Okay. I guess I'll file it under mistake and start pushing this experience out of my mind so it won't poison my hobby. I've loved & enjoyed knives nearly every day since the day in 1986 when I picked up a Randall Made Arkansas Toothpick. I can't let anything threaten taking knives to the end with me. It's the Knife Life for me. Thanks for straightening me out.

as far as delivery times, this is directly from Busse's web site

** Completion of most new projects will likely take a minimum of 18 to 32 weeks. Some models will ship sooner while others may take much longer depending on quantity/complexity/workload. Due to the consistent and exceptionally high demand along with the nature of the manufacturing process, Busse Combat Knives and its subsidiaries can only provide a rough time frame for completion and shipment.

Thanks! I had no idea about this. I was told 12 weeks. I guess it's not something to do if I am nervous or concerned. I'll start forgetting about it so it doesn't bother me any further and take it as a lesson learned.

lol. Go try and place a Randall order, then come back and tell me what they said. It's ~5 YEARS wait... You're being deliberately obtuse here.

They do not constantly get large gov't contracts, but it does happen. Your knife will get made.

I do not recall seeing 12 weeks for delivery when I ordered this one. That would be unusually fast, but it has happened.

Busse orders are typically 4-6 months wait. You'll get your knife. In TWO WEEKS... (That's where that saying came from.) ;)

If you can't wait that long, then don't pre-order, it's that simple. Wait until after the knife has been released, and afterwards you'll usually* find some of them on the website for immediate shipment. (*not guaranteed)

I waited 8 years for a Scott Cook Lochsa I was lucky to land a book spot for. 8 years... Granted, it is worth every minute I waited, but I didn't know that while waiting- I just put it out of my head & continued with my knife life.

Be patient it will show up in due time. If you want a blade now then sign up for Busse Emails and get notifications for Rapid Deployment that pretty much ship next day.

Patience is a virtue. 👍 I'm not ragging on the people setting me straight. I just got in a situation where I am in over my head with my ignorance of how it is. The way it goes.

Yes. I'm being obtuse. I got mad because I can't be excited about it any longer. Yes. I did stop pre ordering because of how it's going this time. I'll remember 👍. I've put it out of my mind as a source for joy and anticipation. I'm not obsessed anymore. It's not going to be a source of pain or joy. It's just an object with no meaning. It's not a signal for fun. Doesn't matter when or even if it comes. That ship has sailed. I can turn it into a positive, better situation by sending it on after it comes. I know somebody that had Mean Street and Badger Attack stolen and has never been able to replace those. Best of outcomes to all.
