Updates on your Giveaway box selections

Yep, that's exactly what it is! The tractor supply near me never has anything interesting but apparently other locations stock a nice selection of Case knives.
Yeah near me the only Case knives they carry are an 032 stockman a CS yellow sodbuster JR and a CS yellow 54 trapper.

The little blue bone stockman in a hanging clamshell? Lol cause those are the same ones they always have here

This knife wasn't really a selection, but a knife that in an attempt to fill the herd I removed because frankly it was a bit of a turd.

The blade was quite loose, the screwdriver extremely hard to open, and the very loose floppy bail would flip over into the way of the blade from the jolt of the half stop if you closed it quickly.

I didn't want to just throw the knife away or anything, so naturally I experimented on it.
The original plan was to simply single blade it, but the hollow steel bolsters couldn't be reused, and the middle liner was quite thin so I had to also use the locking liner from the driver blade.

I recovered it in some mahogany I had.

I also added a pair of nice drawn swedges to the blade and gave it a razor edge.

Wow, beautiful job you did there!

I still carry my selections occasionally. Though the early rounds were more thrifty in nature.

This CRKT surprised me with great snap and solid half stop. I take it in the hot summer when sweat and humidity would be rough on carbon steel. Though I did have it at the zoo today as well.

I picked this little Schrade 18OT out of this last round because it was dangerous, it has a very strong spring and I almost cut myself multiple times operating the liner lock to close it.

I wasn't sure what I could do about the very strong pull / snap, but I knew it would be better without the liner lock so I went for it and decided I'd re-cover it in stag while I was at it.

The pile side came out pretty good.

The mark side came out pretty good as well, but I mixed the 2 sides up and after getting the pile side all fit and pinned I realized that the other piece of stag wasn't quite big enough.
I figured that finding another piece of red stag that would match probably wasn't going to happen, so I decided to just reuse the original saw cut delrin cover.

I don't think I'd go out of my way to intentionally do this on another knife, but it's kinda cool.
It's like a knife you could use at work and carry to church on Sundays.
My uncle likes small pocket knives as much as I do, so I might give this one to him.
He'll probably find it interesting.

The pull is much more manageable now, and without the liner lock it's no longer dangerous to close.

I got some more stag in and decided that I just had to redo that Schrade 18OT.
I chose what I thought was a decent match and went for it.

The stag I bought on eBay was a mixed lot of deer stag and Elk, and I'm pretty sure the piece I used which didn't wind up being as much of a match when I was done turned out to be elk.

I'm pretty happy with how it came out and like it much better than I did before.

I really am tempted to keep it and probably should, but I think I'm going to give it to my uncle for his birthday next week.
As a fellow lover of small pocket knives I think this one would be right up his alley, and I know he doesn't have anything in stag.
I also know he'll think it's cool that it has 2 different types of stag ( can elk be stag ? ) on it.
