Hi guys!

I want to upgarde my grinder. Something happened with the motor.

What can you advice reagrding the motor type?

The only thing I am sure at is that I need a totally enclosed motor. like TEFC

Most of us use 17xx RPM. You'll want the same shaft size as your existing motor, and probably the same mounting. Doesn't your existing motor have a nameplate with specs? Power output (HP) and power draw (V and A) are the other specs you'll need to look out for. Most of us prefer 1.5HP and up. If you're using a VFD, you need 3 phase.

Patrick has asked the correct questions.

1. What hp do you have now.
2. is your grinder with VFD? Pulley drive? Direct drive?
3 What voltage is available for new motor?

Perhaps a photo of existing motor nametag and a photo of grinder showing motor mounting would help provide guidance in choosing a new motor.

Guys from local shop recommend to take the baldor. https://www.mrosupply.com/motors/ac-motors/general-purpose-motors/26523_vm3546_baldor/
But I want something cheaper

If you are confident that the Baldor motor specs are what you need, but not the price, simply look for another motor with the same specs: Frame, voltage, RPM, enclosure, HP, and phase ('PH') are the specs you need to match. 'Frame' will dictate how the motor is mounted. 'Enclosure' dictates the motor's tolerance to dust and its cooling capabilities.

Alexander - OK, there is no motor nametag to take a photo of, but how about a photo of the motor showing mounting position and of grinder showing if it's a pulley, direct drive, or VFD setup. The RPM chosen depends a LOTS of what type of setup it has.

The motor linked to is a 1725 (same type motor as 1800 RPM) and with a pulley setup that might be all the RPM your grinder can handle. Also, 1hp might or might not be all your grinder can handle - I had "assumed" your grinder was a 2X72 grinder since you're wanting to upgrade, but perhaps it's something else?

You might fill out your profile showing your location in the world - somebody on here might live "just around the corner" and could give you advice by looking at your grinder.
