Hello, I upgraded my membership to platinum and noticed the gold badge was still there as well. I haven't noticed that on anyone else's before so i was just wondering if it gets removed? Also I read a post (while trying to find an answer to my previous question) about a member upgrading to knife maker and having his membership extended due to his gold membership not being expired yet. If thats possible to do that would be great since I wasn't due to renew my gold until march. Thanks for your time!

You can ask Spark to prorate the remaining time on your Gold membership to extend the duration of your platinum membership. Spark Spark
 
I believe that both are showing because you were already gold when you bought platinum (so, technically, you are currently both).
Contact Spark to get your remaining Gold time prorated into your Platinum membership (probably won't be as long as you might hope, but might as well)
