Guys... I have received my first Benchmade EVER! And hopefully, the first of many.

I ordered the Auto-Stryker http://www.benchmade.com/products/product_detail.aspx?model=9130SBT%2D01 9130 "Taurus" special edition on Monday from www.1sks.com and it's amazing! My first Benchmade is also taking double-duty as my first auto, and just like it's handgun cousins, it kicks just as hard, :)

The knife is beefy, and the grip is almost sharp (grooved aluminum) and is Taurus's "Ribber" pattern. The knife is very evenly weighted - at least to me - and has a good, neutral feel.

The blade seems sharper than my CRKT M16-13Military model, although both knives are almost identical in length (all regards).

For anyone looking for a -what seems to be- GREAT automatic... this is the deal...

I do have a question though... for those of you in the National Guard, are we allowed to carry these daily? I live in Ohio if that matters? I asked once, but I didn't get a very clear answer... any help?

Thanks in advance...

Wew hew, I was promoted!!! PFC it is... at least before I sign the ROTC contract;)

P.S. I'm also posting this in the automatic forum...

Congrats on the promotion! I go to basic and AIT this summer, 11B. You? I'm doing the ROTC-SMP option, too, enlisting as a PFC, but... we get paid as an E-5 while doing ROTC!

Check Ohio State law. Frankly, I don't think you can carry it. I'm not even sure it was legal for you to buy, but if you leave it in your house you won't have any problems.

I came back from Basic and AIT in August. I had left for Basic Jan 26 of this year... I'm a 46Q... and I agree it's very cool getting paid as a sergeant for drill.

I probably won't carry it around much. It was to jump-start my collection, and it's an amazing knife. I don't plan to put any use on the blade.

Thanks,
Cleary

but if you leave it in your house you won't have any problems.
Even that differs by state. In N.M. we cannot own, possess, buy, or sell any automatic knife, not even for the purpose of collecting.
