Below YT video discusses a couple of actual cases of UPS claiming an item was lost or completely damaged, only to turn up for sale on eBay or Guitar Center. Yikes!

There are thieves and individuals of low moral character in virtually every occupation. I can think of no exceptions off hand.

(Personally, my experience over the years with UPS has been quite good.)
