So I had a 2 and a fraction pound package to zone 2 from me. I went to send it UPS, they wanted $34.50 2nd day, $28 3 day, or $20 something ground.

I walked across to the PO and sent it for $6.85. OK I've haven't sent much UPS for quite a while but what's up with that! Is that how much they charge if you don't have a mechant account?

UPS sucks.

They are all for the business community, I've found; screw the occasional private party shipper. Businesses get heavy volume discounts, and I believe USPS won't do that.

My UPS horror story was this last summer. My old lady sent her parents some meds UPS red label (overnight. They were on the road in their motor home, in Idaho). Package weighed less than one pound. The cost was $23 and change. Of course, the package never arrived to them until the second day. After calling and complaining, we found out the package was 'stuck' in the local depot, and scheduled to be on the truck that night. In laws said the package had been relabled.

Personally, because of cost, and the poor service, I will never use UPS again. No reason to when USPS provides the packaging material, and now does free pick ups.

I use UPS all the time and have never had an issue. I can pay for, and print labels from my home PC and I only have to drop off the box at UPS. The person receiving the box can track it the whole time. I'd never hesitate to use UPS.. or Priority Mail.

Ahh, got it, thanks. I thought it was a new insult I wasn't aware of.

Unite States Post Office does right by me  never a problem.
On the other hand, I've had a few probs with UPS.

A customer of mine sent a $2000+ folder overnight UPS to KnifeArt, they said they didn't get it, UPS said they delivered it :thumbdn: No insurance and neither one would offer any help, actually they were both assholes

On packages from the USA to Germany, UPS charges the receiver of the package over $12 just for processing the package!! I mean, the shipper pays the shipping charges right, so wherre do they get off charging the person who receives the package anything?? The receiver has no contract what so ever with UPS and still they send a bill. If you call and refuse to pay on the basis that you have not contracted UPS for any services, they take it off the bill. What dick weeds.:jerkit:
