When I received my RC3MIL last week or so,The knife and all contents were in a bag taped closed and after I removed RC3MIl from baggy,There was a plastic sleeve over the handle ?
Jeff is right I would talk to the Dealer you purchased it from !

Ditto here. The packaging and protection was outstanding, and really impressed me. I am the same in so far as when I get a new knife or anything for that matter, I like it to be sparkling new.

Hats off to Jeff, Mike & shon for raising the bar. It's no wonder you guys have such a loyal fan base. You've earned it!

It came out!!

Well most of it. I scrubed it with dishwashing liquid and used a hair dryer to dry it. Dishwashing liquid worked well since it's a degreaser. Took about 4 times. It's still there, but it is very, very light now. My 11 year old son came home from school and checked it out and he never even noticed it.

I wish I'd took before and after pics. You guys would have been shocked. It literally looked like a mechanic had handled it.

Thanks for the offer of a new knife, but it's not necassary. Just the offer is enough. At least you care where the dealer didn't. Feelin a little love from Rat Cutlery today.:D

The dealer is one you have listed.

RAT if you pm me I'll tell you who.

Wow... you guys are amazing. I wonder who the dealer who got cut off is. Wonder if it's the same place who recently quit selling Beckers. That pissed me off a bit.

Glad it worked out to your liking. Jeff, Mike and the crew are tops when it comes to customer satisfaction.

Now get out there and beat on that thing like a red headed step child.

Get those handles good and dirty.:D

Don't care about dirt. Oil pisses me off. I thought since it was micarta that it was going to be a permanent thumprint forever.

The thumb print not being mine would be like marrying a woman with another mans name tatooed on her tail.

I feel ya'.

Make that dirty your own.

Very impressive! A company that really cares about customer satisfaction & is willing to go beyond "the call of duty" will not have a problem attracting & keeping customers. My hat's off to Jeff & Mike!

Wow, Rat Cutlery is a class act. I've bought over 15 Rat Cutlery knives, and while I haven't had any issues with any i've bought, it is certainly comforting to know that the maker stands behind their product like this.

 To Rat Cutlery.

Well after the macarta completely dried it was obvious I couldn't get the oil out. It had soaked in and me scrubing it just spread it throughout the handles.

I emailed Jeff at RAT last night and inquired about new scales. He is sending them out today. Thanks a bunch guys. I hated to inquire about dirty handles, but it was bugging me it not being my dirt.

RAT is a stand up company and will purchase more in the future.

I'll post before and after pics when I get the new scales.

That is awesome Jeff, so glad I went with RAT as well. I have two Izula's shipping out today. Talk about the best customer service in the business!

k12s,

If they scales do not fit exactly then let us know. We "marry" handle scales to a knife in the production process. Since we do not know which batch of knives your knife came from, there could be a slight misalignment of the scales if it is from a different batch than the scales we are shipping. Hope this makes sense. What I'm trying to say is each run of knife blanks from the laser may be slightly different than another run. We have to adjust the handle profile program on our CNC machine to fit that small change from one run to the next. Never fear though, if you don't like the fit of the new handles we will make it right. With that said, I think they should be correct since they most likely came from the same run.

Just a quick note. Acetone will clean just about any thing oil based off of the scales. Its what we use here at the factory. Available at any hardware store in the paint section.

Shon

This great example of customer service excellence will guarantee that my RC-5 will be getting some company from RAT Cutlery. Already thinking about the RC-3 Mil and RC-4.
