I just shipped out a couple of knifes and I made sure that I got a tracking number and the person has to sigh for it. they just email me and said the tracking number is no good. thank god I don’t throw any thing with tracking number away. I went to there site and sighed up and dam if the same thing happened to me. no good. I called there 800 auto number and tracked it that way with the same number. they said it will be delivered on Monday. why cant I track it by online instead of having to call there 800 number?? this is my first shipping with them please if you help me out with possible answers then I want to thank you.

Tracking websites are often updated only a few times a day....results
may be different in the AM.

yea but I was tracking 4 days after I shiped it. the buyer emailed me and said the tracking number was no good and can I look into it for him. I dont throw suff like this away. I got on to there site and it told me the same thing. no such tracking number. I called there 800 number and I got a delivery date. that is what I am mad about. there site is not worth the time to go to.

I have had nothing but excellent service via UPS. Usually just through Amazon. They offer real time tracking, and the window of delivery time is usually accurate. As far as the online tracking, maybe they are preforming maintenance on their website. That I am not sure of however. Try it in the AM, if worse comes to worse, the seller can call and get confirmation on when it's to be delivered.

I am the seller and I did call to get a time when it will be delivered but that is not the point. I just wanted to see if I was just haveing bad luck or has this happened to other people too.

I use UPS for the last 6 years to ship my knife buys and sales (100+) all over the world. In all that time I had only one or two times problems with tracking.

I prefer USPS myself. I've never had any problems from them, and only one or two hiccups from UPS. It's more the prices that tickle me, with USPS being a little cheaper, even after delivery confirmation and insurance.

yea but when I use ups I am sending switchblades. from what I hear on the board you can't use usps for that. but every one I know on the auction sites are doing just that.

I don't think USPS cares whats inside anymore. They're hurting for business. As long as it doesn't smell of explosives, drugs or biological/chemical warfare agents, it pretty much goes to it's intended destination unmolested. Not sure about customs, though.

UPS and USPS tracking information can take as long as 24 hours to update.

Of all of the "lost in mail" excuses I've heard through the years, every single one of them was due to operator error. Both UPS and USPS are almost completely automated. In fact, the tracking numbers by both organizations are assigned and kept in a database by a computer.

I've bought, sold, and traded hundreds of 12" records and CDs over the course of many years using both shipping organizations. The number 1 error I see is sloppy hand writing that was done in a hurry. Easily avoid hassles, take the extra 30 seconds and write legibly.
