Remember http://www.urbandead.com? I'm still playing.

First character (civilian): abandoned. He had a lot of guns but very poor luck in choosing safehouses for the night. I got tired of waiting for revives.

Second character (military): Currently level 8 and looking for trouble in Peppardville. Not finding much. Most of my time here is spent scrounging for supplies, helping out at Fort Creedy, and annhilating the occasional zombie that's still standing when I log on. When I do actually see one, half the time they're a Mrh Cow and I can't bring myself to shotgun them. Same story in Pitneybank. All the action's around the Fort, and it doesn't last long. The last time I looked, the Fort Creedy survivors had the zombies outnumbered about 5-to-1. Combat skills are maxed. Next skill: Diagnosis for easy healing XP when the zombies are all on the ground.

Third character (civilian): Level 8 and languishing in Tollyton after being run out of East Becktown. While the levelling was great, the multiple safehouse crashes each day were not, and once I realized that East Becktown was honestly under siege I got the heck out. (And it was a close call.) Between chopping up zombies like kindling and sampling DNA, I'm trying to find some guns. Numerous pistol magazines. No pistols. Next skill: Shopping. It's time to loot the malls. Possibly Bodybuilding instead, in preparation for a conversion to Zombiedom. (As I already have a flak jacket, Necrotech Employment, and Diagnosis; Bodybuilding would make me an official "Super Zombie," and I've even got a crowbar and Hand-to-Hand Combat for when someone has the nerve to combat revive me.)

Fourth character (zombie): Level 8. I got tired of eating noobs caught outside the barricades in Pegton. It was easy levelling but not much fun. Once I had Lurching Gait, I went on a walkabout to Ridleybank and Barrville, the Mecca of zombiedom. After that, I stumbled on up to Darville Heights to assist in the seige of Caiger Mall, as no true zombie can resist the pull of so many brains in one place. The levelling is not as good (only about one level every two or three days) but I can count on taking part in safehouse crashing often and I have at least one fight with a live opponent per night. (And due to Ankle Grab, it only costs me 1 AP to get back up if I lose unless the other guy is Headshooting.) It's also allowed me to practice "zombish" with Death Rattle, and the good folks at the St. Isadore revive point are probably getting tired of me taking swings at them and shouting "GRAB MAH BANANA HARMANZ!" while blocking the revive line. Next skill: Neck Lurch. I'm maxed out on claw attacks but I like the idea of Infecting everyone in a crashed safehouse before I start actually killing survivors, and Neck Lurch is highly desirable for bite attacks.

I'm seriously considering banking a few hundred XP with both of my survivor characters and going completely zombie. Wrecking barricades, chasing revivers, talking trash with Death Rattle and eating brains are far more fun than hiding and ambushing feral zombies. Both of my survivors have Free Running (possibly the most important skill a survivor can have in most suburbs) and may be heading to Caiger, as that seems to be where the action is these days.

How are my fellow zombi...err, other players doing?

Claw attacks maxed out. Finally got Shambling Gate and Ankle Grab. Before I got the Gate it was hard to travel too far. Now I can start setting my eyes on bigger prizes than small clusters of food...er, humans. I'm in Shore Hills right now. Glad I'm not the only one still having fun with it.

3 characters...a Private, a Scout and a dead guy. Having a lot of fun and waiting for my server hit limit to be lifted as it's holding me back.

From your description, *I* might have been one of those Zeds you were whacking on and sampling.

Got a few other friends in too...

This thread got me to thinking about desensitizing our society. With the populations growing, and the standards of living decaying, America has taken a lot of hits the last 40 years. Now we have Zombie movies and games up the ying yang.

When and or If social disorder becomes predominant, the kind of decision making that decimates different people in specific places might be easier. And we did it to ourselves- there was no 'they' making us callous- heck, Officer, I ENJOY shooting Zombies.

That said, wish I could play (dial up)

The last game I played was Sega master system . Shooting gallery .
The only X box I,ve seen was the last time I voted .

I actually had a stranger email me for advice on the game... he clicked on the trap in my sig line and assumed I was real into it.

It sounds like a great diversion, but I've never played it.

Xbox "Call of Duty" was the last one, 'cause you start out shooting a Mosin-Nagant at Stalingrad. I'm really sick that way- got 3 M39's now- last one is a "B" barrel with Czarist crown of Peter the Great mark intact.

uh, would not recommend a M-N for Zombie defense- slow rate of fire, overly powerful. Unless they're 2000 meters away.

munk - It's text based...slow server and everything. You don't need high-speed access at all to play. Come on over...(I hear writers have *very* tasty brains).

Xboxing tonight...Halo II

Before you dismiss the humble M-N for dealing with the undead, recall that the 91/30 is larger than some spears with the bayonet mounted, basically placing an able rifleman beyond a zombie's reach. Soviet records indicate that it was extremely effective against zombies when used as a melee weapon, which may explain why it persisted so long in various armies. Also note that while the M38 lacked a bayonet, the later M44 featured one -- no doubt due to an increased fatality rate against zombies. I should not even have to mention the fact that all later Soviet carbines and rifles (and sniper rifles) had some sort of provision for bayonet use, primarily to protect against unexpected zombie attack.

The solution to your problem is simple though, AA. You need an SVT-40. ;)

hehehe...I have secured a Club for myself and tagged it apropriately. Wonder if I can hold it for a while?

Where was I when this all started.... mmmmm....brains, with a touch of veggie tanned leather...:foot:
Then again...there is alot to learn, alot to read, and no time on my end... and X-box has spoiled me...

Fancy shambling on up to Caiger Mall?

If the chow's good, I'd be willing to relocate my zombie (and only my zombie) to your neck of the woods. Caiger Mall is exciting, but I could level faster elsewhere.

Finn capture- oh how cool is that...

"Finnish captured Russian SVT 40. {7.62X54R}. SA stamped. 1941 Tula. Wood is in VG to VG+ condition. Metal finish varies, 40% overall with some minor shallow surface pitting is a few spots. The buttplate has pitting under the arsenal reblue. Mag has Tula stamp on bottom. The front sight globe had the top 1/2 cut off. A replacement front sight protector is included with the rifle. Comes with cleaning rod. Bore has G+ to VG lands, debris in grooves. $725 *** PHOTO "

There's a Soviet movie called "Come and See" the hero, a partisan kid, has one... which he sometimes DRAGS on the ground in back of him...

Which raises the disturbing thought-

"Are there Zombified Nazis?"

Let me throw that question out for the forum.

Keep your eyes open. Mine was $350, likely because the gas system was dialed in incorrectly and the previous owner didn't know how to adjust it. They're out there.

...and that's what I get for complaining in public. Peppardville seems to be under attack. I smoked two zombies, dinged another, and ran out of ammunition and AP's. It was an easy level. I hope that there are this many around tomorrow, and I hope that I'm still alive to make use of them. I didn't have the AP's left to run very far. There's an open PD nearby and the zombies seem to be focusing on that, but while my safehouse is fully barricaded, if they decide that they want it, they'll probably get it.

Nothing shaking in Tollyton, but I finally found a pistol and enough flares to stage a very nice 4th of July celebration. If I can find a zombie tomorrow, I'll go for an all-flare kill.

After two live fights that had the harmanz running away from me, I wandered away from Caiger and headed north. I lucked into a group of survivors standing around and proceeded to eat one of them while two others wasted a lot of ammunition on me. I reverted to straight trash-talking when I got near death. (I was in rare form for this.) Caught the fatal bullet, no head shot, and I was back up on my feet for a measely 1 AP. Unfortunately my killers weren't around to hear me talking any more smack so I took it out on the sleeper that was still present...wrong place, wrong time. Another easy level. Unfortunately I AP'd out before I could kill the second survivor but hey, it was a lot of fun and a few potential Caiger Mall defenders are probably looking for ammo now, rather than guarding the barricades. It's all good.

I've not been in a hurry to level...it gets easier as you get higher after all. I am playing with tactics now and have a sleeper waiting for folks to come back into the building where my body is.

On the other hand, I also made sure that I dragged the bodies out of the PD I helped clear of the walking scum yesterday...the noobs in there apparently didn't know enough to do so.

It *is* fun to watch folks run away from you...lucky that they don't know that I am often down to my last couple of AP by then. ;)

Congrats Danny!

Yum...I mean...Umm...where *exactly* are you?

;)

Took a human almost all the way down and another Zombie finished him off. Chased another human, who got a DNA sample from me, but he got away. I did pick up Brain Rot, though.:D

Frank

Already had the flak vest and bodybuilding, eh?

If any of you (humans) end up in the north west of things, Dakerstown is a mess I just got reasigned there as an MFD Captain, apartently I get a tough suburb. We could use anyone who wants to kill some zeds up there. GTWalrus is my name.
