It almost looks like you tried to link from your email address from the URL in there. FYI, that doesn't work :(

Wes, the best way to post pics here is from a picture hosting site like Photobucket. As Registered User, you cannot upload directly from your own computer. The photo host will provide you with a URL.

urban carry v wilderness- I carry the same knife (neck carried Fallkniven WM1); urban I add a sidearm and a spare mag (don't carry a sidearm in the field); urban my first aid kit I subtract blister care, but add a Israeli bandage; a carry a more potent (single cell CR123) handheld light and a small backup handheld (single AAA), afield my lights are a small headlamp and photon micro; fire starting- urban a lighter and a micro kit I keep in my wallet, afield- lots of redundancy in the fire starting arena :D, cordage- urban survival bracelet, afield- survival bracelet, cordage wrapped on sheath and generally a 25' hank or two in the pack; signaling same whistle (Fox Micro), add a signal mirror in the field, cell phone goes w/ both (although I've found the cell phone to be almost useless in the mountains where I hike :(), navigation urban- analog watch and a city map, afield Garmin Foretrex GPS, Silva Ranger compass, Suunto button compass atop a K&M matchsafe, topo map(s), water/food- urban- minimal, afield- whatever the trip necessitates, always carry a BUF urban or afield, appropriate dress for either

For me I'll generally swap out my benchmade 710 for a Fallkniven F1. I'll also change from carrying .38 +P's to .357 mag hard cast 358429's with 14 grs of H110 behind 'em.

I carry a folder in urban & a fixed blade or fixed plus folder in the field. I usually have several other blades like a bolo, fillet knife, or extra mora stashed in the pack/boat/truck.

I don't carry a gun.

Urban and Wilderness are pretty much the same for me - except in urban, if it is in Downtown I will likely have some sort of impact device on me. Kubaton, or perhaps even pepper spray. Not a very friendly place.

Urban = Leatherman Blast and ZT 301 or Emerson La Griffe.

Wilderness = same as urban plus a big blade. I just received and am testing a Linder machete so that may be my new "big blade".

One thing I changed for Urban v. Wilderness EDC, was to get a Victorinox "Locksmith" model for Urban carry instead of the "Trekker", because it has the metal file/hacksaw blade as well as the woodsaw.

Urban and wilderness is a rat izula with scales in the city it's in my pocket inthewoods around my neck... In the woods its supplemented by a fallkniven f1 and awetterliings hunting axe

Aye I carry a HEST as a companion blade and EDC. I live 3 blocks from the trailhead, my life in town is my life on the trail, lol...

In the urban areas I carry smaller tools...small fixed like a HEST or Izula, and then a folder I can open one handed and a multi-tool. Things I can distribute on my person. In the woods I'll still have those but also have a larger blade on my side or strapped to my pack.

Hey great thread Wes :) It's something I've actually been doing a lot of thinking about here of late. I'm scheduled to move to the Ozarks here very soon but I'm stuck here in KC Missouri for a while longer till I get my ducks in a row.

I'm currently in an urban survival situation where I'm carrying hardware for life threatening emergenicies and thank almight GOD that none have arise as of yet. But I do find this interesting because I'm finding that I'm needing the same model of Spyder that I'm finding useful for both environments.

For instance I'm finding that some of my full sized Spyderco folders not only are great self defense gems but are ideal for timber/outdoor use as well.

About the only Spyders I'm currently not using here in the city are my fixed blade Spyders except in the kitchen. Now interestly enough I'm finding that most of my serrated Spyders are more useful in the outdoor environment than they are here in the urban area.

Now have encountered a couple of instances here in the city where some of Spyderco's small fixed blades would have been very handy>> and wouldn't have violated any of the Un-Constitutional laws they have here as well.

I've been using my Spyderco SE 440V Native to do 80% of all my cutting needs. And my Harpy Hawkbill has been very handy at times. Very interesting parallels to say the least
