Has anyone tried to take an Urban apart yet? I can't get the small screw in the middle of the handle out. It just spins in the hole. It's not that big of a deal when taking the knife apart. Even with this screw still in you can clean the knife pretty thouroughly. But I can't put it back together now without removing one of the G10 slabs.

Anyone have any ideas on how to remove the screw or put the Urban back together otherwise?

I suspect its stripped now.

I wonder if Spyderco would fix it?

But, you could drill it out and tap it for a helicoil - if you want to use a the same size bolt.

Possibility of it being stripped - is the screw itself turning but not "catching" or is the head of the screw stripped?

But saying it's stripped and resorting to drastic measures may not be the best choice - do you have a spare Torx driver (of good quality)? Use that to hold the screw on the other side in place then gently turn one of them.
If it works, it may just be that the hole in which the mate is inserted is entirely round - allowing it to rotate freely.

Worked for all the Spydies and Kershaw's I've had that problem with... assuming they DO have a screw on the other side (looks at Shallot pivot...).

There is no screw on the opposite side. The screw is not stripped. It just turns both sides and wont catch. I tried using a piece of rubber held firmly on the smooth screw head to stop it from spinning, but that didn't work either.

EDIT: Okay, I still haven't been able to remove that screw, but I figured out how to put the knife back together with it still attached. It's really pretty easy to do once I got it.
Put the female screw through the bottom hole on one G10 slab and the lockbar. This will keep the lockbar in place. Keep the other G10 slab pivoted out of the way for now. Now put the female pivot screw through the pivot hole. Slide on a washer. Now slide on the blade in the open position. Push the lockbar up with your thumb till you can slide the blade all the way down the pivot screw. Then put on the second washer, rotate the top G10 slab back into place, and put in the male back and pivot screw. Done. It only takes a minute or two once you figure out the right process.

If that is the case, try the old soldering iron trick - add some heat and let cool a few times - then try turning while jamming the handles to hold the spacer part.

Ah, is it the screw that holds one of the liners in place?
Hmm...

Not really. It goes through both G10 slabs and the back spring.

That was going to be my next course of action. But I guess its unnecessary now since you don't really need to remove that screw to clean it. If anyone is able to remove this screw, I wondering how the knife would function without it.
