O:K: .... The hobo stove certainly is up there if the candles do not cost much . What about heating water in an automatic drip coffee maker? I betcha you could even cook ramen noodles in one . Not in the carafe of course . I imagine there are other heatproof containers that would fit right under one. It might not get boiling hot . The minimum temperature warmer plate underneath would serve to maintain a decent temperature for the couple of minutes noodles need to cook.
So what do you think? What are the economics involved?
I cooked some canned curry (when the electric was down) over 'Tea lights"...made sure to them on a tin sheet. Worked ok, but unless you have NO
power its a bit of a waste of time.
I knew one guy who would just run a wire from the juice IN the meter to the Juice OUT the meter- it only worked due to the scum lords crappy old wiring being loose and easy to get at without a knife.
Same guy also cooked fries and burger in a TOASTER by lining it with foil and laying on its side...it did the job, but caught fire the second time
Also i always thought that i'd rather have the cold in (can just dress warm) then the damp which messes up the lungs badly.
