The markings on the knife indicate 1960s or early 1970s. Probably Vietnam war surplus.

Old picture of an issued TL-29 from the early 2000s on the left with a case version next to it, I rarely if ever carried it. It was very bulky compared to more vintage versions with misaligned liners, but it has zero blade wobble. I'm curious when they stopped giving out the whole lineman kit. This one was included in a toolbox set.

This is a type of mobile satellite system and from it you'd run lines to wherever you needed.
