Hello...I am gauging interest at this time for a very nice weapon. As the title says, it is a H&R .22 Long Rifle, Military Model MC-58 all wood stock, all original, with original sling, very nice condition, with one magazine, and original Gov't Issue Marine takedown and maintenance manual in near mint condition.

This was the rifle used to to simulate the M1 Garand in Marine Training operations.

I've sold one already, and thought I'd try this route before putting on consignment, as I did the last one.

Asking $750, shipped to your favorite dealer of course.

Here are some pics (in my haste I failed to get a pic of end of barrel, but it's in as good of condition as the rest). I would characterize this as collector's grade. Thanks...

LOL.
Did you get that from RM Equipment, in Miami. ?
They were fairly nice.
If they went up that much, in twenty years, I am, indeed, a moron..

I'm really not certain where it came from - I got it from my father along with two others just like it, and about 10 M1's (mostly Match). I sold a few of the M1's and one of the .22's at the local dealer on consignment. The .22 was the first to go and fetched $800, with book and magazine as well. The Garands took longer to sell only because they were priced at $1000 apiece, but sell they did!

Who'd of thunk????

Not me.. fer sure !
I guess 20-30 years is a long time..

I have all sorts of training rifles from wayyyyyy back, including ?? about 2 of those.
I better go look :o

I hope you shot that rifle.
They were super accurate..

You're exactly right - they are super accurate. I haven't fired this one, but I have my other one. I think the value now is either to a collector of Garands wanting to complete or add to their collection, or to a target shooter who appreciates the fine accuracy. A person who just wants a plinker can get a nice .22 new for a lot less :D Check those rifles out that you have - probably worth more than you thought! Thanks for the comments!

First post. That is definitely a nice rifle, and getting harder to find. I bought one myself last year for $700, but it didn't come with the manual or magazine. I'd buy it if I didn't already have one!
