USA Buck,China Buck or what?

It just seems odd, that there is more readily available information about Schrade and Camillus, than about Buck. They have catalogs to download, price lists, etc.

I don't think you get it... ALL of this info is available to BCCI members on the BCCI website :D

Boy you make friends easily :D

Good luck in your endeavors...

Geez, I hate conflict.
At times I may have felt like your odd cousin Ernie with my little black knives, but I have to say everyone has always been decent when ever I was without knowledge. We are a tight group but we "NEVER" do not welcome a new avatar.
To any folks out there thinking about asking a question please do, but we are a clan of photos or scans. You can describe it till the cows come home but a photo will get you instant results from multiple sources. No, there is no PHd tome on Buck knives if there was we would all have one. But who knows, someone out there may be the candidate to write it, I bet EEE and I would take some pictures for it. For the seekers of knowledge it is like the paper and pencil and book days, no instant oatmeal, you will have take a little time, stay awhile, tell a story and show the pictures of your kids(knives) and the sources and knowledge will be shared. Why I have even started picking up a 112 or two just to have some brass to shine.

Thanks for the help.I guess the answer is that there is no definitive answer. The Buck website must still be under construction, there was a lot more on the old one.I have a book I put together of Schrade,Camillus,Hammer Brand and some others from readily available sources from here, knifeforums and AAPK.I was hoping to have a section on Buck knives too.Does BCCI have old catalogs available for download?

Yes, try the newsletters also, there is usually a article on a series or group of knives. The section on individual model numbers is slowly being populated with information also. 300bucks

Also to jb4570, 90% of what I buy is on Ebay, the rest mainly from Bladematrix. As far as me being deceptive, about what? I'm not trying to sell anything. If you have something useful to contribute, please do,otherwise, stay out of it. Thank you.

Well Brother popcornpicker I was feeling left out. But, I finally got your attention:p. In my chatty round about way I was showing you what it feels like to have someone be rude and obnoxious to you. That's not what I'm really like at all. It was a cruel joke to play on you and I hope you have taken no offence. But, if you have....I can and will stay out of your thread.

Now to start again....Hi Popcornpicker....Welcome to the buck forum!!!! We are a tight bunch of knife nuts here and do want to hear about what you have. We will try to help you with any questions you need answered and I'm sure someone here will have the information you seek. We are all learning from each other every day.

Other than this group; the best on-line reference source is the BCCI web site. Sorry you do have to join the club for access. Now if you can post some photo's or scans it would really help identify what you have. If you can't or don't know how to post photo's you can send them to me and I will post them for you or send you the information on posting photo's.

Again popcornpicker...sorry if my tactic offended you. I don't currently collect the Buck models you have asked about so far...so I can't answer your questions...But, with a photo or two I'll do my best searching the BCCI site to find your answers....That's how I learn...you don't know what you don't know until someone ask's a question....and you don't have an answer:eek:.

Thanks again.I'll be sending my BCCI application in soon.I guess I'm starting to get it now,so we can let this thread die, throw some dirt on it and start over.

Is there some place that I can find out when and where a particular model is or was made?
I once posted a list of the USA made Bucks, but I can't do a search and resurrect the thread.

Maybe someone else will? "hint, hint".
