USA made

Keep it on topic, please. The OP asked for USA made knives. Discuss USA made knives.

You might also consider Utica Cutlery. An old, traditional Manufacturer from New York. They have a nice selection of folders available in Stainless or Carbon Steel. And moderately priced.

And the Moore Makers with a 'U' in their model number are made by them too.

Check out Moore Maker. But why are you ruling out Case? They have a ton of them below $100.

I would also recommend the auction sites, they have a lot of USA made knives from used to mint.

The suggestion for a GEC model 73 is an outstanding one. It is a convenient size for use as well as for pocket carry. It allows you to experience a GEC knife in all of its glory and comes with a nice and nice manly pull of about an 8.

Today, I just ordered the Schatt & Morgan Pint Gunstock, Bone scales, nickel silver bolsters, ATS34 blade steel, for under $100. That's a good deal (I'm hoping) for those components for under a bill. I imagine it'll come dull but hopefull the f & f will be ok.

Schatt & Morgan has many decently priced, USA made, traditional patterns.

I haven't purchased a S & M blade for awhile but I seem to recall reading their fit/finish can be off sometimes. I may have that wrong though and am thinking of a different company.

A GEC 73 Single Blade is a great EDC Knife. Also would make a good "baseline" knife from which to get an idea what you're tastes are. Reasonably priced, in the $70 range. Be advised that they do have a stout backspring, around an "8" give or take.
I'm really interested in the GEC #15 I think it is called the farmboy. Know anything about that particular knife

I will take a look at what they are offering. Thanks for suggesting, I've never heard of this company

The 15's are a great knife, another "baseline" knife, smaller than the 73. The "Farm Boy" version of the 15 is probably only available on the secondary market.

Echoing what Bob said - the 15 is a great knife and is/was available in a number of blade options. If you opt for one of the regular production runs rather than the more limited SFOs, you can still find them in several blade configs for around the $80 mark shipped to you from several GEC dealers.

You should also consider Canal Street Cutlery, especially if you prefer a stainless steel knife. GEC does most of theirs in 1095 carbon steel.

I only have one Canal Street knife (the Eric's Jack) but it is an exceptionally well-made little knife. If you are having a hard time finding them, AG Russell is a good source for them, along with KnivesShipFree.

Although the parent company is from Japan, Kershaw makes some really good USA made knifes. I have one of their scallions, and my father has one of their chives, and they are great. They are MSRPed at $75, but I have seen them for as little as $34 on Walmart.com. They are good quality knives.

Do you want assisted opening or not? I know some states have laws against them, so I would like that clarified if you happen to know.

This is the Traditional knife forum. Let's keep the discussion on topic and about traditional knives. Thanks.

Okay after looking over all these suggestions I'm still not sure. But I have nailed down what I'm looking for. I would like a double bladed slip joint. Mini trapper or something similar. Not specific on blades, would like one to be a clip point but not totally necessary. Also I'd like the closed length of the knife to be around 3.5 inches. I find that to be the most comfortable size in pocket for me

You should look at the Case Improved Mini Trapper. 3.5" closed, clip main blade with a Wharncliffe secondary.

He has had an issue with a Case knife and their customer support and is looking for something other than Case.
