USA Zombie Knives

*casually throws torch in nearby water*

Looks interesting, kinda like the USMC next gen, but with toxic green handles and a combo edge. I'm kinda surprised about the cutco stamping, is that going to be on the production model?

*thoughtfully starts chewing on some straw*

That is the production model, and yeah, Cutco owns the rights to make the Next Generation, now named, The Explorer. The ZK Explorer is a new concept knife, and one, I plan on testing thoroughly.

Cool, I appreciate the info. I had no idea cutco had renamed the next gen.

Looks like I'll have to find something else to start lighting torches for now :p.

Its hollow ground. Not sure if that's torch worthy or not.

There's a couple of drunks in the BKT forum, touting Guiness and Dark. Might wanna bring some light to them.

Don't get me wrong, I love the knives but I just don't get the whole zombie craze. Maybe I am just getting tired of being asked if I am preparing for zombies everytime someone see's one of my knives. mmmm, nope... just find it helpfull to have a knife.... yes I will cut that for you.

The other theme behind the zombie knives, is that most of the patterns are very old patterns that are being brought back "from the grave". For instance, the pestilence chopper is a WW2 machete design, and the war sword was from a similar time period (you'd have to look it up to see what they are all patterned after).

Once you get away from the toxic green handles and tacticool style marketing, the blades offer quite good value for the money.

As you can see, it looks quite a bit different with just stripping the blade and changing the handles.

I'm planning on making some bluejean micarta for mine, and possibly trying my hand at a sheath.

I like the zombie craze. Maybe not the over the top zombie everything, I drew the line with the biohazard reticle on some of the new ACOG scopes, but green is my favorite color, I've seen just about every zombie movie made, and I under no circumstance, think zombies will rise up.

The idea is being prepared. We create situations in our mind, to help us think of the things we might need in a tough spot. Walking corpses strolling down the boulevard, creates all kinds of images of items and skills we might need to cultivate.

And there are some badass knives out there. Toxic green is hard to loose in the woods, or anywhere for that matter.

I know what your saying and at first I liked the fun example of preparing for zombies, but now it seems like a way for main stream media to make those that like to be prepared (prep, bushcraft, self-defense, guns, knives, etc) look like idiots. I prefer to use realistic examples, katrina, LA riots, Heiti, Thailand, etc. I'm just overly sensitive I guess cuz I feel like our rights are always being questioned/attacked.

I am editting this in because I realize how off topic I am going. Sorry. Yes very cool knives. But for me, Becker Series all the way :).

I can't hate on whatever reason people decide to pop their head up and pay attention for a change about the world around. Now if we can figure out how to make rye in a coffee maker, I would be complete.

Nice! I had a next gen f/u that I liked a lot. Shouldn't have gotten rid of that one.

The laser etched flag is sweet. Please keep that on the final product!

The USA flag is said to be the distinguisher between Taiwan product and USA product per the spiritual leader.

Few things in this world that I admire as much as an American Flag.

Actually, none. I'm glad its gonna be kept.

Now, if we could just put it on all the Kabar USA made blades, I'd be a very, very happy Moose.

If it didn't have serrations I might buy one. The serrated blade is why I sold the black F/U I bought when I was about 15.

Cool. I'm not totally sure if I like the toxic green but I am getting tired of tacticool black.
