About when was the "USA" added to the tang? It was not on the 1916 tang as shown by some previous posts so obviously later. Also does anyone know when brass liners were added.
 
Thanx, but that thread was my 1916 reference point. I refer to that thread often and it has been most helpful. I have a couple of old knives with tang stamps "Camillus Cutlery Co, Camillus New York" in three lines without the "USA". Some have stamps on two blades. I'm guessing they are circa 1920 but who knows? I'm also guessing that brass may have been used some in the 1930's up until '42 for liners when they stopped using it during the war. But about when was brass started?
