Usage of Smileys in the Knife Exchange

To the pearl clutchers, I am not commenting on whether it is right or wrong, or whether I think it should be allowed or disallowed; I just think it is interesting how people adapt technologies to suit their own purposes. It's a kind of evolution that is pretty cool. And yes, when I see a parade of these smileys in some moron's thread, it does make me laugh and I can't help but mentally high-five those who posted them.

I'll ask Kevin next time I see him. Using the emoji system he provides, not POSTING emojis, should be fair game. Posting emojis is different than REACTING with an emoji. Posting takes up space and can derail. Using the system spark implemented to react takes up no space. And who the hell even knows why someone reacts a given way anyway.
Yes. Some seem to be misinterpreting clicking reactions as posting emojis in the thread.

Right, the emojis that were being posted back when Kevin was talking about them being used to derail was probably the jerkit emoji we used to have. But there wasn't reactions back then.

Don't be a dick. This is for your emoji in my last post.
I demand the return of tags.
Hey now, I kinda miss having them chiclets shown. Red and yellow, like a bladeforums wiz Khalifa song.

Again my two cents: it’s not a matter of the difference between POSTING or REACTING, it’s a matter of derailing a sales thread, which any kind of interaction can do.

That is wrong.

Maybe you shouldn't try to reinterpret what I post...or if you have a question, ask it...

He was referring to emojis like this in a sale thread: 😆😅😂🤣🤣 etc. which are being used to undermine the price that a seller is asking for a given knife or item. Sellers may ask what they will, whether you or I like it or not.

Don't screw around with a seller's posts in the exchange.

It's simple. Don't respond, don't buy. Leave it to the staff to clean up any violations in the exchange which should be reported to staff via the software.

ETA: (Keep poking the bear shinyedges,...we'll see who laughs last.)
