Use a Lansky system to sharped smaller blades (like a Leatherman Wave)

Hi,

I've recently gotten myself a Lanksy Professional sharpening system (this one). I've had a bit of fun touching up (and sometimes, resurrecting from the dead) various kitchen knives. But when I got to my Leatherman Wave, my fun ended. Not matter how I tried, I couldn't get it to work. Fasten the clamp securely - covering a lot of blade, and the stones hit the clamp. Fasten the clamp just at the outer back of the blade, and the blade wiggles so much, there's no point in using the system. What I'm hitting is the outermost metal piece of the clamp, holding the blade, not the screws.

I've googled this fairly extensively, and have not found posts raising this issue, which I think there would be if this was really a problem. Can anyone share they experience, positive or negative, on this subject?

Thanks!
