I'll comment on the high pressure bit regarding ceramics. According to the VSM website and data sheet, their XK885Y ceramic belts , which I have been using lately: "achieves maximum stock removal – and therefore cost savings – when grinding high-alloy steels with medium to high contact pressure"
Let's also not forget that one person's high pressure might be another's medium pressure.
I just don't want everyone to think (like I did when I started) that high pressure necessarily means that you need to anchor your machine to the ground and lean your whole body weight into it.
What I'd suggest everyone who is trying ceramics for the first time do is taking a belt and experimenting a little with your technique to find out what works best.
And don't forget that high pressure also can mean a huge screw up if something goes wrong.
With almost every other cutting tool we use, aren't we taught to let the tool do the work?
