Now that I've cut two blades out of the first steel I ordered, I have a few little bits of 440C left over. I am planning to throw them out, but I thought I'd ask: is there any reason to hold onto them? I'm talking about bits the size of one or two postage stamps.

I guess I'm stupid, but it never occurred to me to try to make bolsters from annealed 440C. The bits I have on hand are not suitable, but I'll keep that in mind in the future.

As a spacer or butt cap on a hidden tang. Or if long enough, you could make a miniature knife.
