what is the ratio of knives you are actually using and the ratio of just showcase knives?

Seb Loads of knives "in the drawer". A few that generally seem to be carried:

So many knives,so few pockets.

12 production folders. 20 custom fixed blades. 4 custom folders. Total = 36 knives

My current daily carry is a custom folder. But I usually carry one of three different production folders as well. There are five custom fixed blades and a couple of folders that I have carried in the field. 11/36= 30% get used to some extent. Something like two thirds of my knives will probably never see much more than desk duty. All will go into service in case of Global Thermonuclear War, or some other End of the World scenario.

I use 100% of the knives that I own.
Soon I will have some expensive custom knives, and great care will be taken with them. They will still be used though, that is what a knife is for in my opinion.

Keith, potential use as a cutting implement is my first priority. But when you have more than a dozen or so custom knives, it is hard to justify using them all
