used belt grinder

I am interested in buying a used belt grinder suitable for making knives. I am just starting and don't want to invest much until I know more about what I'm doing.

How much are you looking at putting into it? I know Texas Knifemaking supplies, in Houston, makes a pretty keen little 'beginner's model.' They ask about four hundred, total, for it, with a motor.
