Used Emersons?

Most of mine have been acquired from the secondary market. I have purchased a couple from dealers and EKI. Doesn't bother me in the slightest!

The only Ernies I wont consider picking up second hand are ones that have a modified "V" ground edge.

Appealing to some but I say blasphemy!

Fair enough. My CQC 10 was V ground by the previous owner. They did a good job so no complaints from me. I wouldn't do it myself though.

The true blasphemy is when an Emerson is de-waved.

Bought a well-cared-for "user" '99 Commander in 2000. Carry the hell out of it. Like having a truck w/ a couple of scratches on it already- won't be so tender about using it as intended.

De-waved, I agree 100%, but non waved, I have a couple of favorites!

If anyone is interested, I have a new in the box super commander for sale.

It has two sets of scales, one green and one black. Never carried/factory edge.

Stone washed, partially serrated.

OM, here is a few pics. Sorry for the lousy quality, they are from a phone.

The ones with the paisley rug BG are not from today, I stumbled across them on my hard drive when loading the new ones.

Cqc-7 from that "other" auction site, price was right, condition was as advertised and is my EDC.

I even bought a backup....just in case.

Bought this HD-7 used and have carried it for the past six months straight. Hands down the smoothest, most pocketable, and best looking production Emerson IMO.

The two emerson knives i have bought (cqc8 and super 7) were both brand new. There is just something about opening up a brand new emerson, cleaning it, and loving it till its smoooooottttthhhhhh like butta

all three of my emerson's were purchased 2nd hand (A-100, Mini A-100, Pimped CQC7).
i only have a few knives bought new.

i enjoy the hunt more than the wait,
especially the wait on customs.

now if we talk about used sheaths,
i'd have to have a good look at it or a satifaction or return agreement first.

Thanks, guys.
Like I said before, if you have a chance, try an Emerson framelock.

I've been buying Emerson's on and off since 1998 and imho these knives are pure tools, more so than other brands. Sometimes tools have to be modified to better suit the end users specific purpose. In my situation a waved Horseman would probably not be carried as much as my modified one, and I tend not to hold on to knives that I don't use.

Whatever floats your boat I guess as long as these tools are used and carried well. Oh and Emerson's are usually exceptional values on the secondary market.
