I had ask about the Fabricated Ivory from Jantz Supply about a month ago, to use on a knife for a wedding present, I decided to use it, and see how it went. I really like the look of this material, it was a little difficult to drill without it splintering out on the back side, but it polished up real nice. I would not want to use it on a rough use knife, as it seems it would likely crack if it were dropped on a hard surface. The pics of the two knives can be seen over in the Knifemakers Galery. Thanks for all the info on this material.

When drilling pin holes, back the scale with dense wood scrap like maple and it wont splinter.

Thanks Dan for the tip, I been using a pine scrap for backup, will try a dense wood instead, makes sense.
